Unfortunately, the only time that I can travel to WDW with my family is July...ugh! I have a 2 year old and 5 year old. We plan to stay 10 days so that we have ample time to relax. Do you think it's feasible to experience WDW in July??? Thanks for ALL your help and input! :-)

Do I think it is feasable to enjoy Disney in July? Absolutely! In fact we have taken many trips in August and had a complete and total blast. Disney is hot (seriously hot), but you just need to travel smart.

We really enjoy water sports and pools and such, so traveling when these activties are plentiful is a bonus to us. We loved our trip in December last year, but we did miss the warmth for swimming.

My only hesitancy is if you are talking this July...that would make me pause more than the heat. Can it be done on short notice, yes. But that will be as large a hurdle if not larger than the heat as far as making plans.

Stay hydrated, wear hats, and plan your days in advance... don't try to do too much in one day... the only advice I can give.. it'll be hot, but millions of people do it.

We've gone in July, August, October, January and February and July is actually one of our favorite times! We do our long (2 week) vacation in July.

You will be fine. The best advice I can give you is get to the parks at rope drop, leave after or right before lunch, have lunch and go back to your resort to swim and/or nap. Go back to the parks for dinner and/or fireworks parade. You will see and do more in those first few hours at the parks than if you came later and stayed all day. Take advantage of fast pass. Drink lots of water and alternate with air conditioned rides or shows.

The nice thing about the summer is that the parks do stay open later too.

Have a wonderful trip.

We'll be at Disney July 18-August 2. When are you going? Where are you staying?

I did it in July with a 2 year old. It's hot. It's sticky. It's crowded. But we had a great time.

We left the park every day about 11:30 and went back to the hotel for nap and swim, then went back to a different park around 4:30 until 8 pm. Kids at that age don't know what they are missing....I mean, they are not going to badger you to see It's Tough to Be a Bug because they don't know about it. So you can plan the day easier.

There were afternoon thunderstorms every day that July.....around 3 or 4 pm, and then they cleared right out. Parks were much less crowded after those!

Not crazy at all! You will have a great time. I would echo the make sure you leave in the afternoons for rest/pool time. I would highly recommend using a touring plan like Tour Guide Mike. His green light days kept us out of the heat and crowds most of the hot summer days we were there and we were able to have a great deal of down time.

Lota of people go and enjoy that time of year. sure it's crowded and sure it's hot...but it's Disney, so who cares, lol.
Especially with 10 days, you'll ahve plenty of time to completely enjoy it.

some days we dont go to the parks during the day at all..we ONLY go in the evening, and stay for extra magic hours. its not uncommon for the fam to sleep till noon or one.
dont try to make decisions out in the heat, you have a melt down..
The only 'dont' i have is Downtown Disney. We had the worst time doing DTD in the daytime because of the heat.
oh yeah, and buy misters..those things rock.

We have gone every year since my oldest was 19 months old in August and have done just fine. One year my third born was only 9 months old and another year I was almost 7 months pregnant. It was still do-able. This August my kids will be 10, 8, and 5 and we're going again so it can't be all that bad! :rotfl: Be prepared for it to be HOT and be sure to bring rain gear (ponchos and stroller cover) since it often rains in the afternoon in the summer (usually not for long, but you don't want a soaking wet stroller!). Drink lots and take advantage of airconditioned attractions when you need a break. We don't usually do afternoon breaks, but I'm sure a dip in the pool is a great way to cool off in the afternoon too.
