I want to thank you all in advance for all the help I have already gotten from the wonderful disboards!!

I am recently engaged! :woohoo: I have always wanted to have a Disney Wedding (I am hoping to write a planning journal, starting SOON!). Before I do though I need some help.

My DFiance and I are planning to get married in 2011, and it has to be in either June, July, or August... for several reasons.

I want to know if I am absolutely out of my mind?!? Also if you had a choose one what month would you choose.

Thank you so much!

Welcome and congrats! You're not crazy at all. We had to work with similar months because of school schedules since some family members are teachers or still in school. DF's father said he would not attend our wedding if it was in June due to his work schedule...which shows his priorities, but that's another story! August just worked better for us and rates are cheaper in August too. So August it was!

It will definitely be very hot, but as long as you plan around that you'll be fine. We're having most of our wedding events indoors. Our ceremony is also later in the day, 5 pm, when hopefully it will be a little cooler.

All three months are hot. July and August will be hotter than June usually but when you're already close to 100 degrees, the few degrees difference doesn't seem to matter much at least to me. BTW, we went this year in June during the heat wave and it was MUCH hotter than it was in August this year, so you never know.

I say, pick the month that works best for you and the guests that you definitely want to attend.

I wouldn't say crazy, if it works for you and your guests, then do it!

Just some advise from a resident Floridian who has attended a fair share of weddings in the summer here. If you plan on having a ceremony outdoors, do so on the early morning hours or later in the day, plan on having under the shade for both you and your guests and have ice cold water and fans handy for everybody just as they sit down.

I would highly recommend inside venues for the hottest months of the year, overall if you are not from the South since the humidity is sooo high here one tends to sweat and overheat easily, so standing there saying your vows might get mighty uncomfortable.

DH and I can't handle the heat so we are staying out of the kitchen :lmao: and having our VR in the very early months of the year, we like it chilly.:thumbsup2

I had a 2:30pm last June during the heatwave...and yep, I would do it again. Sure beats not having a Disney wedding at all :thumbsup2

We are getting married early in the summer, June 3rd of this year at 2:30p. But we are having an indoor ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion and an indoor reception at Citricos. In case of it being too hot, I've also rented vintage umbrellas for guests to use to shield themselves from the sun on the walk to different locations! So there are definitely things you can do to have a wedding during the summer in FL! :thumbsup2

Hi and congratulations!!! I was married this past year on July 1st. I chose this date because I am a teacher and my husband is a pool operator in a high school and we had to plan it somewhat close to a holiday, and at a time where I would not need to take days off.

Of course I had the thoughts of relentless heat going through my mind, particularly because I wanted an outdoor ceremony. But I figured that the ceremony will only take 20 minutes, and if I could survive in a wedding gown, my guests could too!

Turns out, it rained the day of my wedding. Rain is probable in the summer months, but typically towards the afternoon and evening hours (my ceremony was beginning at 10 am). It rained on and off and we had to have the ceremony inside, but it worked out in the end and it could not have been more perfect!

I wish you lots of luck!

Thank you!

Originally I wanted an outdoor ceremony, but realized and accepted the fact that I am not going to be able to. I do want an evening wedding, so I know that it will be a little cooler. (Although I am from Indiana, and our weather is a little crazy!)

You all eased my nerves, about having my wedding in the summer. I am a teacher, DFiance's dad is a teacher, my brother will be celebrating his high school graduation in June, and DFiance will still be working on his doctorate of pharmacy which is why we were narrowed down to the few summer months. I have not been lucky enough to go to Florida enough to know what weather is like, but I did know that it would be hot. In the end though, I know it will all be worth it because I am marrying the man of my dreams, and I will survive the heat...

Thanks again!!

Congratulations! I'm horrible at keeping up on the boards, but I understand your dilemma. I'm a full time law student so I was pretty restricted to June and July. We decided on a July 5th wedding. It was much less expensive than June, and if you book over a holiday weekend, regardless of your ceremony venue, you can secure your date 1 year out. It worked out perfect. It was super hot but the ceremony was indoors. July can be rainy however. I would recommend an afternoon wedding, as ours was at 5 pm and it rained in the morning. Come 2:00 all was clear. Good luck with whatever you decide!

We are getting married August 9th of this year (I actually picked a cool date 08.09.10) and said we can all survive. I have been to Disney in July and August before and we are only having the ceremony outside. Dinner will be at V&As inside.
