Am I crazy?

I need a Disneyland fix bad! I am only about a 6 hour drive from DL. A friend and I want to go, but we can't afford much. So we came up with a crazy plan! We are thinking of driving down in the middle of the night on a Friday night (early Saturday morning), spending all day Saturday just at Disneyland, staying overnight at a cheap hotel, then driving home on Sunday. Are we nuts?

I just really need a fix and one day would do it for me! I was there in April and June of last year, but I miss my favorite place on the planet!!!

I can't be the only one to think of this or do this right? Please share your 1 day DL stories with me!!!

not bad not bad, i drove from LA --> SF Saturday Morning, arrived at Saturday Afternoon, then SF--> LA Sunday afternoon

Yes! Your TOTALLY nutz but I would TOTALLY do it too! We are six hours also from DL and got a trip for christmas from our parents. So with a group of 6 mid-kids (range in age from 19 to 30) we are going on a weekend.

The original plan was to leave friday night, go to DL Sat. and half of Sun. and drive home Sun. night. Then I found out that DH has never been to U.Studios. So that changed the plans a bit.

We are going to leave Thursday night. Go to U.Studios on Friday, Medievil Times Friday night and DL, DTD, and DCA Sat. & Sun. and drive home monday.

So I am right there with you in the crazy boat!

I can't call you crazy since I've done that exact thing. Go for it, when you need DL, you need DL, nothing else will do.

If you are only 6 hours away, I would not drive overnight you will be exhausted. Try leaving about 7 to avoid most of the traffic and then you will get in about 2am, crash then hit the park. You need SOME rest!

You sound like you need a DLR fix, I would go and have a great time!!! It's probably on your mind day in and day out...maybe even dreaming about it?!!! I would totally do that, but maybe figure out how you can leave a little earlier and get some rest before going to the park.

My bro and I did the same thing 'years' ago,but bassakwards. On the way home from Seattle(we live in Az),we hit Anaheim about midnight,zonked out ,hit the park just about all day,left and made it just the other side of Yuma b/f zonking out again.
Do have fun though.

heck no your not crazy.....i did that where we left at like 2am and got to DL around 7 and went all day stayed the night and went home the day after...I was dead but it was great

My family and I would do that in a heartbeat!! Washington is too far for the quick trip, but if you live close enough I say go for it!!!

I would do it! Only knowing me I'd go in to DL for half a day on Sunday too (maybe till like 1-2pm), if I had the money, then drive home from there! Very tired by the end of it all, but I probably couldn't help but get a few more hours in there. hehehe

Don't worry, you're not off your rocker! I constantly need my disney fix! I live about an hour to an hour and a half away but I always end up battling traffic. The worst was getting stuck in traffic for 3 hrs. on the 5fwy and having to pee! I kept telling myself I could hold it but let me tell ya, I've never ran to that parking structure bathroom so fast in my life!

Go for it, I did these type of things years ago, not necessary DL but about the same distance. The only difference would be DH and I will leave right after work and get there 1 or 2 am in the morning, sometimes we get room for the night and sometimes we just slept in the car. We usually stayed until the evening of Sunday, leave 6 or 7 pm and got home at about 1 am. Slept for 5 to 6 hours and go to work Monday morning. Needless to say, we usually went to bed early Monday night right after these types of trip.

Try to spilt up the driving, then both of you can get some rest along the way.
