Okay, I feel like I'm completely insane!

We just got back from a great WDW trip in July, and my hubby said no to Disney next year. We have plans in place to go to Hawaii for the first time in May. He said we can go back to Disney in May 2008.

I know I'm totally insane, but I'm not even that excited about Hawaii. It just keeps making me sad to see my counter for my next Disney trip is like 19 months away! I keep worrying that its so far away that something will happen and we won't get to go again. I think I have a problem!!! I don't even know what to do without a Disney trip to plan.........

In all seriousness, does anyone else get this way? How do I get off the crazy train?

Toot Toot!!! I am totally with you... Hubby and myself were talking the other night about when we should go to Hawaii, (we have been going every other year to WDW), I told him when we can afford to go to Hawaii either in our WDW off year or when we can afford 2 trips in one year!!! And I have been to Hawaii and I loved it BUT........... I really love WDW!!!

Definately with you on this one!!!!! :thumbsup2

You are not alone in your insanity. We are renewing our vows and having a big ceremony for our 10th aniversary aboard a cruise ship with our family and friends in Nov. 07 and we are also going to Hawaii in May 07 for a convention. Now 07 is a Disney year for us, we go on odd numbered years. So it may look like I won't get a Disney trip in 07 and might have to push it to 08. So I'm totally freaking out! There is no way I'm going to make it! I would rather go to Disney than have a wedding, so IMHO I'm much crazier than you are. (Not that I don't love my hubby deeply he is the best and would marry him again in a heartbeat).

I'm going to have to sneak in a trip somewhere, because there is no way I can wait untill 2008, I haven't been since August 05!

I know how you feel. My wife and I went to WDW for our honeymoon. We stayed 7 days at the Yatch Club and being 31 and my fist time ever at WDW, I feel in love. I never went as a kid but always wanted to go, we just couldn't afford it. So when my wife and I talked about where we were going on our honeymoon she brought up WDW. She had been the a few times with family and loved it, and knew I was dying to go. That was 4 years ago and I have been chomping at the bit to get back. We are taking our 2 1/2 yr old DD to WDW for her frist time and I couldnt be happier. I am giving her something I never had, a WDW trip. We are going to the MNSSHP on Oct.17th and I can't wait. The point of all this is once you feel the Disney magic it's hard to shake. I had to wait 31 years to show the little boy inside the greatest place on earth. So you see your not alone we all long to get back, even while we are there I think we plan our next trip. May 08 will be here before you know it and you will have a blast. Funny thing is our honeymoon choices were WDW or Hawaii we chose wisely. Hope this wasnt to long winded and helped.

Welcome to the boards!!!

Once you have the disney magic inside, it's always there. Have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip. You all will have a great time. Did you make any character princess meals for your DD? We went to the MNSSHP back in 2001 when my DS's were 5 & 3 and had a great time. Can't wait to go back when they are older so they are able to stay up the whole time. They lasted til about 10 and feel asleep in the stroller. Have fun!! :goodvibes

I feel you. I've never been disney crazed but after having so much fun on my last trip with my bf I have the crazed feeling and I want to go back. But he said we have to go somewhere else next year so I'm hoping for 2008 or 2009. It seems so far away.

Thanks M&J's Mom, I think we will. We are going to the Garden Grill for a character meal. We are already making plans for the first week in December for next year, we want to go to WDW every year during MNSSHP or The Christamas Party. We bought her a Disney shirt for each day.

I don't think you're crazy. I've done the same thing. I even hoped that one of my previous non-Disney trips would get canceled (there was a chance) because then we could switch our tickets and still get there that year. But, I ended up having an amazing vacation, even though it wasn't Disney. :)

I'm joining in as one of the crazy ones, we just got on Saturday the 16th from our 3rd trip to WDW and I'm already planning for Sept -07. I need it booked so I have something to really look forward to, vacation wise.

DH is talking about Washington DC, Black Hills etc and though I know it would be great fun and very interesting, it is NOT WDW. Yeah I'm  alright.

So I told him, lets do one of those trips on DD"s springbreak in March ;) and still go to WDW in September, he's in on it WOOHOO!!!!

Yeah, crazy here too!!! When my DH and I talk about different destinations for trips my questions is always..."Well what do we do when we there?!" I mean sitting on the beach can only go so far...unless of course it's the beach at the Poly and when you are done "relaxing" you can go grab a shower and head to MK for some fun!!! :cool1: From park itineraries to making ADR's to getting fastpasses for ToT and Space Mountain...there is just so much TO DO at WDW!!! I'm never bored when I'm there. Can't get that in Hawaii!!! :sunny:

Yep, Disney Dork and Proud of it!!!

I don't want to vacation anywhere else. DH feels the same way. We think about going other places, but right now, we just want to see WDW.

Crazy here, too. :thumbsup2 I guess I'm just lucky that my DH is obsessed as I am. We went to Gatlinburg, TN for our anniversary in May, & it was the first non-Disney vacation we've taken in 5 years. We found the Disney Store catalogue outlet while we were there, so I guess it wasn't completely non-Disney. :teeth: We booked our next trip for March 2007, our 1st Disneyland trip, about a month after we booked our WDW trip. And as soon as we get home in October from WDW, we're booking our next WDW trip for May 2007. And we're planning & researching for our Toyko Disneyland trip next October! I'm just not happy if I'm not planning a Disney trip! :confused3

Our next trip will be DLP in 2008, no more WDW until 2010 for us :(

Just thought I'd share my depressing news. How I'll get through the next 4 years I'll never know :rotfl2:

No you are not crazy...O.k. maybe we both are! :lmao: :lmao:

At the beginning of this year my DH asked me what I wanted for our 15th wedding anniversary. He assumed I would like jewelry (which I do) & brought me to look at some gorgeous 3 diamond eternity rings. As we were brousing & seeing how much they cost :scared: I started thinking that for the same money we could go to Disney World. I left the store with my DH & told him what I was thinking...he was like "are you sure??" Oh yea I was sure!!!!:mickeyjum

So in August we spent 11 days at the Beach Club & had a blast at Disney World!!!!! Better than a an expensive ring to me!

Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) my Dearest Hubby does not have the Disney disease. We always go on odd years because DH insists we go on non-Disney vacations on even years which usually is a cruise. For our 2008 trip I'm trying to get him to go on a Disney cruise, he is coming around.

I could go to Disney every year twice a year, heck I would move to FL and work in the parks if I could.

I personally don't get that way because I enjoy visiting many other locations in the world in addition to our trips to WDW every few years. That being said, I have some advice to help you change your perspective.

One thing that always gets me excited to visit a new destination is getting a good guidebook and doing some internet research. Finding out about all the exciting things to do, unusual things to experience, and great new restaurants/foods to try gets me very enthused for any location (even those seemingly boring ones that we travel to sometimes for business purposes only).

I say put Disney out of your mind & get yourself psyched up for the brand new adventure that Hawaii has in store for you. WDW will always be there but the opportunity to go to Hawaii is something that many many people will never have. You should relish that you are well off enough to have such a priceless experience and view it as a very lucky positive in your life!

Well, its good to hear that I'm not the only one. DH does love Disney, but he's an every other year kinda guy, and he has ALWAYS wanted to go to Hawaii, so I want to go to make him happy. But, wow...it's so hard to not be able to plan right now for a Disney trip. Obviously, I have to wait until after our Hawaii trip to book for the 2008 Disney trip.

All I can say is that I'm going to be totally insanely excited once the May 2008 trip comes around!!!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the good advice Mart. I know you are right, I need to get myself pumped up to try something different. I think the guidebook/research idea is a great idea. Thanks! :sunny:
