Am I crazy?

MlWear: Thanks for the support! It is just what I needed to hear today! :) We are looking forward to this trip. I talked with my husband and he agrees that we just need to be prepared that there will be things he won't want to do. Fireworks scare him to death so we will plan to avoid these or watch them from the beach at the Polynesian. It's funny that you mentioned the Teppenyaki. We definitely CAN'T do this one. We have tried it before and the whole atmosphere scared him. The problem is if he is set off from the start, it is usually a no-go from there. With this type of restaurants, it was the curtains and not knowing what comes next. I plan to come prepared with his backpack (which he will sometimes use just as he does his weighted vest at school). I plan to put his headphones and leapster in the back pack and his walkman, because I know these help if outside noise is bothering him. I am excited now to go more and I am realizing that the more research I do now, the better our trip will go. I read on one post that the AS music pool & playground is often quiet midday so I am even thinking that if Movies is too crazy, that we will just try one of the neighboring All star resort pools. Well, thanks again for the feedback!

Scott: Thanks for the tip about dinosaur, Snow White, and It's a Bug's Life--we will be sure to avoid these. Honestly, if there's even a chance he will be scared, we should avoid it, because it might impact what else he tries at the park.

It's interesting that you mentioned Sci Fi. I was thinking about this one, but we weren't certain how he would react. We have talked about taking him to a drive in at home for a test run. I'm curious about LTT though, because my son LOVES Minnie. The food didn't sound appealing to us. What was your impression of it?

Thanks for the tips about the GAC. We have already gotten funny looks from some close friends and people who know our situation when we tell them about the GAC card and how wonderful it is. Our family is obviously supportive, but acquantances act strange when I mention it to them. I know it is because they have never had to live day in and day out with a special needs child.

Well, thanks again for all the tips!!

Jennifer
