Am I crazy to think this is possible? (VGC related)

We are considering a California trip next June and we would love to spend maybe two or three nights at VGC. But I just read somewhere that they will only have 50 DVC rooms. Is that correct?

If that is the case, do you think I will have any chance of booking a 1 bedroom seven months out? I hesitate to rent points from a VGC owner in case we had to cancel for some reason.

Any advice? Thanks!

I'd say you have a good shot at 7 months, especially this year. It seems like they are wide open and no one has been reporting sold out dates for now. Good Luck!

I agree that the chance isn't too bad. It's better if you are going early June and odds probably drop slightly if it's late June. Since VGC isn't sold out yet and there are lots of new DVC owners patterns haven't been established yet. I'd call right at 7 months though just to be certain.

Thank you both for the encouragement, it sounds like maybe we will have a chance! :goodvibes

I just booked a 1BR for 7 nights for DM and I for January 8th-15th. Just booked that the 2nd of August and was told by MS that there was plenty of availability! Hope you get the dates you want and have fun! :)

50 studios and 50 1 bedrooms and 2 grand villas. Plus we all had to us our developer points @ SSR in the middle of the summer during free dining and you know that didn't go well for some of us! Grrr! So, we are sticking to the off season at our beloved Disneyland! So, yeah go in June -- have a great time! :wizard:

For what it's worth, my understanding is that there are a large number of dedicated 2BRs at VGC, which cannot be split. I believe there are only something like 21 lock offs, which means only 21 1 BRs or studios -- and there will be that many only if the lockoffs are not being used as 2BRs.

Are you talking about VGC DP? I'm using mine in September in a room at the Grand Californian (not the Villas)..was that not an option to you?

I wouldn't be surprised if you can get in pretty easy at seven months for early June. I haven't heard of anyone having any troubles with any dates so far. I know I got five nights during spring break and I didn't call right at 11 months. I didn't have to wait on hold even. I think it's going to take a while for DVC to catch on at the West coast.
