Am I crazy to think I will eventually win?

So every day I diligently enter sweepstakes to win free Disney/Disneyland vacations. My husband picks at me about it, but I truly believe if I enter long enough, I will eventually win a free trip! The way I see it is that it takes a max of 5 mins and this would be the only way we would go back anytime soon since we have a LO and plan to wait to go again. :confused3

Does anyone else share these "crazy" dreams? I think I mostly want to win because I'm so frugal I'd love to get a free WDW trip. That'd be the icing on my frugal cake! :cool1:

Keep trying! I am doing 2 disney sweeps right now.

I always enter all kinds of sweeps, blog contests etc. Only for stuff I want to win. I never win anything big, but its better than wasting my time watching mindless tv etc.

So far this month I have only won a toy and dvd.

Just make sure you have enough money set aside to cover any tax liability if you win a trip.

The tax part won't be a problem. I'm a tax acct so I start doing the calculations when I enter. ( yes I'm THAT nerd) my DH on the other hand wouldn't even know that was a result of it although, he will say its still cheaper than paying for the trip itself. :)

Oh, I try too. I've never won. I'll be too old to enjoy it when I do win:rotfl2:

I'm right there with you! I especially go for the ones that offer a night in Cinderella Castle with the win :) Someday I will get to stay there....pixiedust:

Good luck on your entries!

You can't win if you don't enter, right :thumbsup2 I sent in a postcard every day for a year during the Year of a Million Dreams, didn't win a trip, but I did enjoy getting quite a few lanyards/pins/ear hats in the mail. I think I won about 8 prizes :goodvibes I say go for it!

Since it's free to try, I don't think it's crazy! I have the MouseSavers contest page bookmarked and one of the first things I do at work every day is enter every WDW trip contest I can. As of now, it looks like we won't be able to afford a trip until 2015 at the earliest, so contest entries help me keep hope alive that we'll make a trip before then, lol

Not that I'm trying to compete (haha), but where/how do you find these sweepstakes?

This is what I do too! I do it first thing in the morning when my DS is taking his bottle and I can't hold my eyes open enough to do actually think of doing anything productive while I feed him!

I do the same thing every day. Unfortunately, living here, we are ineligible for quite a number of these, but we still enter all we can. Also enter the mycokerewards instant win contests daily, using the 5 free daily entries. Finally won a $5 Subway gift card just last week!

My wife won a Jeep almost by accident. She was just trying for a free t-shirt (got that, too). Can't win if you don't play :)

I always enter contests too, especially for vacations. I keep dreaming that we'll win a vacation! We haven't been on a real vacation for more than 5 years, can't afford it!!! So, I keep entering contests. Have won a few small things: itunes card, umbrella, magazine subscriptions, toys and games. I'm hoping for something big one of these days!!

I always wonder about how they contact you and worry that I'll miss their call since I'm usually at work.

If you're crazy, so am I! I set up an email account just for entering sweepstakes. I've been at it for about a month and so far I won a $50 Walgreens gift card (which I'm going to use to buy a Disney gift card!)

I heard it takes time from when the sweepstakes ends til they contact the winner, so I'll keep trying!

Good luck!!

Crazy, no.

Realistic, no. Someone has to win, but odds are, you'll manage to save money and take a trip before you ever win.

Also, people should be cautious. Most sweepstakes are marketing ploys to farm data - it isn't bad, but it does mean that your email will get junked up and "they" will have even more data on you. Some are scams to get you to buy a timeshare or some such nonsense. A very few are outright identify theft fishing expeditions.

I won a trip to Universal and a stay at Nick hotel back in 2005. My sister won a trip to LA there, too. If you're in it, you can win it.

Seriously, though, I'm a sweeper (a person who enters sweepstakes) and I've won about $50,000 worth of prizes in the last 5 years. Just won a trip to a town in Texas that I'll use for our anniversary. SOMEONE is going to win. In a liklihood it won't be you, but it COULD BE.
