Am I crazy to cancel Le Cellier?

I have a dinner ressie at Le Cellier for my trip in May and thinking about canceling to make room for Jiko. I have never been there and really basing it one the fact that it seems so popular. We also have Akershus that morning for our EPCOT day which we can't change since it is my daughters pick. I am thinking of maybe walking to the Boardwalk area and trying Beaches and Cream or Big River Grille instead. Is Le Cellier really that great or can I drop it?

Personally - I would choose Jiko over LeCellier any day. Le Cellier is great - but not in the same league as Jiko - IMHO

It's a personal preference. For some people, Le Cellier is a must, for others, they could do without it. Personally, we try to eat at Le Cellier every trip - we love the Mushroom Filet. :lovestruc

I'd suggest taking a look at the menus for both Le Cellier and Jiko ... and then make a choice on what you would prefer.

I wouldn't blame you for canceling. Im sure there are ten million steak houses by where you live... but how many micro brewery's or beaches and creams are there?? I personally love big river!:yay:

NO Not crazy at all, I cancelled last year for Christmas eve and went to WCC and had a nice dinner, excelent service ans didnt regret the choice for a minute:)

I think it depends on you. Does the Jiko menu appeal to you more than Le Cellier? If so then I would do it.
As the PP said, the menus tell the story.

Personally we tried Le Cellier for the first time last week and we WILL be returning, their food was too good to miss.

It also depends on whether you are on the DDP. If you are then Le Cellier is a much better deal than Jiko as the prices are fairly close and Jiko requires 2 TS credits which, IMHO, is never worth it unless you are on the DDxP and have credits to burn. If you are not on the Dining Plan then Jiko makes a lot of sense.

As for the other two, I wouldn't consider Ice Cream and beer as good reasons to choose a dining location. The burgers at Beaches and Cream are okay but I don't think the food at Big River is anything special. Certainly not on par with Le Cellier or Jiko.

I think Jiko is much better than Le Cellier. And if I were to go to Beaches & Cream it would be for ice cream only, not for the food.

Tough call. Jiko was my favorite last trip and Le Cellier was DH's favorite last trip. I would do both rather than Beaches and Cream or Big River. If I had to choose between Jiko and Le Cellier.... I'd probably choose Jiko just because its at AKL and its a great place to walk around before or after dinner. Check out the animals or if its dark use the night vision goggles.

I love Le Cellier, but ever since they changed their menu a couple of years ago, it's now on our "if we get it, great, if we don't, no big deal" list.

I couldn't get it this year, but it turned out okay. I tried Rose and Crown (new to me) and loved it. We decided we won't try for Le Cellier anymore. I really liked Jiko when we were there years ago.

We had tried for years to get reservations at LeCellier and had never been successful. We finally were able to get them on our last trip. I was so disappointed it did not live up to expectations at all. Maybe we just hit it on an off night. I really enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup but other than that the food was just so so. IF you want to change I would go ahead and do it.

I wouldn't cancel LeCellier, I'd stand outside the restaurant and SELL my adr to a family that matches up;)

We  Le Cellier! It was the best of 7 dinners we had on our trip a couple of weeks ago. We have also been to Jiko and enjoyed it, but we prefer Le C, especially if you like steak.

I think Le Cellier is hard to get into due to the size of the restaurant and not really because of the food. It was good but we were very close to the people next to us, almost sitting with them! I would try something new. That is what we are doing.

Come to think about it, the cheese soup is our family's favorite thing there too. I learned to make it this summer though (found recipe on internet) and it was perfect (if I do say so myself). Maybe that's why we weren't too disappointed to not get Le Cellier reservations this last trip.
