My mom is treating me to a WDW vacation the Sunday and Monday AFTER Thanksgiving. My daughter will turn two the day after we leave Florida (Wednesday).

Is this a really bad time to go? Can a two year old enjoy WDW? Will I enjoy it with her?

I am leaving DH at home. I am really excited, but does anyone have any tips?

A 2 year old can definitely enjoy WDW and that time of year can work out fine. Start EARLY leave EARLY. Be at the park at rope drop. Really, this works! Your child will probably be most interested in fantasyland. If You arrive at the MK, 10min before rope drop, you will probably be able to do all of fantasyland by 11:00AM. Snow White can be a little scary for little ones. Its a little dark and there's a witch. Try a character meal when you've finished your mornings tour. Before you head for your restaurant get fastpasses for your party so you can hit one more ride after lunch. If the park still seems manageable hang out, but if things start to get crowded you can leave without feeling disappointed. head for the hotel pool. If you want, head back to a park in the afternoon to take in a Parade or a show. This will work at all the parks! I know your family will have a wonderful time. :sunny:

Our DS has loved going there for the past couple of years. We took him well before he was 2 and he finds new things to be amazed at each time we made it there.

I have taken both of my kids from less than 1 year old and on. They loved it no matter what age. Just take the day slow and know that you cannot plan for a tired cranky baby. We always plan a rest break in the middle of the day, so the kids are fresh to do things at night. Starting early is a must. When your DD gets tired/cranky, stop and go back to your hotel for an afternoon break. You will feel better yourself for it as well. Pace yourself and remember that if you don't get to see or do everything you want, you can always come back!!

Thanks for all of the advice. I will tell my mom. I think the advice offered will help. My mom wa sthinking we should let my DD sleep as late as she wants those days. I don't think my mother realizes 7am is really late for her.

I dont think the crowds are going to be really busy for you unless you are at MK on Sunday. We were there the Sun. after Thanksgiving last year for a week and we did AK on that Sun and MK on Monday and we had very low crowds. I think most people are leaving on Sunday to go home from their Thanksgiving vacations. We took our oldest DD(16 now) for the first time when she was 2 and she LOVED it. She talked about what she loved and what she would not ride again until we took her again at 4. I think 2 is a great age, actually I think any age is a great age for Disney. Take lots of pictures so that she can look at them when you return home and remember how much fun she had.

I am hoping to get a good Christmas Card picture. Costco only takes a day to print them, so I can still have them mailed the first week of December.

She is excited. I don't know if she understands it completely, but she tells everyone she is going to "meet JoJo and Goliath". The more we talk about it, the more she seems to understand. She is also telling people that is she going to "fly airplane".

We have taken all 4 of our children before the age of 2 and all of them had a ball. The important thing is to go on their schedule, not yours. If your DD is an early riser plan to do things early in the day. If she is more of a night owl, plan late nights. If she gets fussy midafternoon, take a break for a nap. Basically, the easiest way to enjoy is to go at her pace and on her time.
