Soon to be 11 year old DS picked parasailing on Castaway Cay as his "special cruise treat". Is it safe? Me and my DH are staying grounded and don't wish to do it. Should we let him go?

I have always wanted to Parasail and figured if I was finally going to do it, it would be through DCL.....so after 13 DCL cruises.....I am finally booked to do parasailing on the repo cruise while we are at Castaway Cay!!!!

I say sure, let him do it....I do not recall reading about any problems with the parasailing at CC. I know it is a private vendor that operates the Parasailing on CC but I still feel better knowing I am doing it at Disney private island!

Both my boys did parasailing for the first time when they were 11 and 12 and loved it. They do it every summer and they are now 17 and 18 and have never had a problem. I believe Disney is so safety conscious they will make sure your son is safe and he will probably have the time of his life. If he is anything like my boys, the ride will not be long enough for him.

DH & I did this about 3 years ago and loved it. It really was amazing. I dont think there was anything extraordinarily dangerous about it. I think you all should do it. ;)

My DH did this and loved it last October. He did it with his dad. I am not too sure about the height thing. I have a horrible fear of heights.

I say let him do it!!!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSYYYYYYYYUS' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1046.gif' alt='Glider' border=0></a>

LOL! Letting him do it is enough to make my heart race nevermind actually doing it myself.
