A little background - We arrive the previous Wed afternoon. Mon, May 31st will be our next to the last day and I already have a full day of MK (including Wishes cruise) scheduled for Thurs 5/26. This will just be our 'leftover/do-over attractions' MK day. No PS's, no 'must see's'. MK just fits there on our itinerary.

If you've been to MK on Monday, Memorial Day, is it just too unbearable for a family who's just hanging out?? I might save our one day left from previous phoppers for this day in case we need to change parks. Otherwise, we're not purchasing ph option on MYW tickets.

It's going to be pretty busy. However, if you don't mind the heavier crowds then I'd go and have a great time. If the crowds will bother you then I'd save the ticket. You already have good expectations in not expecting too much from a holiday weekend. That's really a good starting point.

MK was very quiet last year. We went to MGM in the AM and it was fairly crowded but not unbearable. We hopped to MK about 4 and couldn't believe how quiet it was. We had front of the line passes that we almost didn't use! Almost everything was walk on. And CMs said it had been that way all day. Now I'm not sure if it will be busier this year with the 50th anniversary and there was talk about terrorist last year on the local news - are the theme parks ready. Our thoughts were if they were gonna attack WDW it probably would be MK. So, not sure if that scared people off either. But it was quiet last year.

The big thing with Memorial Day crowds, and holidays and weekends in general at MK is the local crowd. People will think, "hey we've got the day off, let's take the kids to MK." As donnajon was saying about last year, maybe the talk of terrorism kept the locals away, so it wasn't crowded. Personally, having been to WDW many times, during every season, I would avoid the MK on Memorial Day. Just my opinion though.
