I have been waiting for good time to talk to DH about planning a Disney cruise. We first looked at prices last year before I found these boards and the prices were so high that I thought he would never agree to paying that much. (A little backround - He plays softball and his team plays in Disney every Sept.) So tonite I said casually "I would really like to start thinking about taking a Disney cruise." and what does he say..."How about we go before the tournament in Sept?" After I got back up off the floor, I thought about it and realized that would mean we would have to do a 4 day cruise instead of a 7 day one. Too many days for the kids to miss school so soon after just starting in Aug. I was really looking forward to a 7 day cruise but we probably wouldn't be able to do this till early 2006. So what do you guys think, 4day in Sept or wait till 2006 and do the 7 day?

There are pros and cons to cruising in September. It is a slower time for DCL and you can get some cheaper prices. But you will also be cruising during hurricane season and last years September was a rough one. I hope we go a while without having a rough hurricane season like that but you never know.

I'm a person who has a hard time waiting for anything so I would choose the September cruise.

I guess I will just have to "settle" for the 4day in Sept. :D I was just thinking I could probably talk DH into rebooking while on board. Heard they offer some good deals.

In all seriousness, I think that you just answered your own question...and quite well I might add! :earboy2: My suggestion would be to go on the 4 night in Sept, then when you and your DH realize how much you LOVE DCL, you'll rebook your 7-night while on board, thus saving money!! :Pinkbounc

Good answer! :cool1: :cheer2:

When you book a 7-night while on board, you get 10% off your cruise, and $200 shipboard credit. So it will definitely be a tempting offer once you're there! :D

I have to agree with everyone here. Do both! Once you do a 4 night, you will be hooked and need that 7 night (and the sooner the better).
