Am I correct with this use year question here, or am I completely wrong?

This is all a completely hypothetical game plan here....

Say I purchase a 50 point contract, at Hilton Head at the end of this year, or early on into 2018, am I correct in thinking this?

Hilton Head contract, 50 points, 0/2017, 50/2018, 50/2019.

Trip #1 Book November 3rd-5th, 2018 at Hilton Head for a studio, 25 points. Bank the other 25 points for use in 2019.

Trip #2 Book May 12th - 16th, 2019 at the Poly for a studio, 100 points, Lake view studio. Use the 25 points that are banked, use the 50 points for the current use year, and borrow another 25 points from 2020.

Since the trip to the Poly is in May, I will have to have the 2019 points available for me to use then. I will have to have a contract with a use year of January-May?

There are no January or May use years.

Yes, you'd need a February, March, or April use year in order to borrow 2020 points for a May 2019 trip.

A February use year is risky if you plan to frequently travel in November.

November will be a very rare time for us to travel. This would just be a two night stay for just me and hubby. Very rarely will we go then.

But it sounds like I am correct on my question?

My travel plans are going to be all over the calendar.

Hilton Head- May, June, July, October.

Disney World- February, first and last of the month, March, first of the month and May.

As long as your UY is before the May trip (Feb, Mar, Apr) you are thinking correctly. But other UY would work, you'd just be using points from different UY than you posted. I'm pretty certain I wouldn't buy at HH with this plan and I am very certain I would buy more wherever I bought though I know you said it was hypothetical.

You don't list November, even though it was included in your hypothetical. With what you've listed here, February would be your ideal use year.

Well this possible plan is just for '18 and '19, not the normal routine, as most of the trips will be at Hilton Head. Just thought I might could get a trip in at the Poly at some point, just because I have always wanted to stay there.

You need to have the expectation of being extremely flexible on where you will be staying when visiting Disney world. Studios are notoriously difficult to book at 7 months.

I know that. But I will add that I love to travel at the end of January, early February and maybe a little bit in May. So I know the first two time periods are in lower demand.
