Am I being too ambitious?

We (myself, DH, & DS-3) are going to WDW for 10 nights & staying on property with no rental car, so we will be "captive" diners (with the exception of one day when we are renting a vehicle to drive down to Venice). I only have 1 breakfast booked (1900 Park Fare). For dinner, however, I currently have 5 PS's---Coral Reef, Teppanyaki, Tony's (before MVMCP), Ohana's, and LTT (before MVMCP). I also seriously want to try Le Cellier, Fulton's, Whispering Canyon and possibly Biergarten. Am I trying to pack too many planned meals into the evenings? I originally started booking them with the thought that it would give us something interesting to do since the parks close early. Also, we are not very heavy lunch eaters, which is why I didn't book some of these as lunches. Have I gone nuts?

It seems there are two types of Disney people: the planners and the non-planners. If you think planning every meal will help you enjoy your day better, by all means you haven't gone nuts! By planning each meal, this is one less thing you won't have to worry about :D

Plus, if you see something that catches your eye while you are there that isn't on your list, you can always eat there for lunch.

In my opinion, the only downside to planning this many meals is that you will always have to plan your day's events around your dinner PS. If you have a PS for 7pm, you won't want to start something at 6pm that lasts an hour or more.

Just some thoughts! I say go for it! Good luck!

Its been my experience over the years that PS is required for very few of the WDW restaurants. Chef Mickeys, California Grill usually require PS but everything else, I have either made the PS the day before or in the case of Chef Mickeys, during very busy times of the year, just called the podium directly. PS holds 40% of the tables, the rest are available for walk in, so even if you didn't reserve and you have a last minute change of heart, walking up is rarely a problem.

I have seen many people turned away at different restaurants without a PS because they were not accepting walk ins. While I know it depends on the time of the year and the specific restaurant, I disagree that 60% of the tables are held for walk ups.

The walk ups will be given a time to return and they could have already been booked, walk ups and PS. One year during Easter break we were completely unable to secure a PS for California Grill but were encouraged to walk up and wait. We were seated after a 45 minute wait. Same story for Chef Mickeys. If there is a restaurant that falls into the do or die category for you, than by all means PS it, but I have never had to have PS for Cape May's clam bake, hotel character breakfasts for a before 8:15 am arrival, and many of the Epcot restaurants. We typically travel when school is out so we tend to vacation at the busier times of year.

we always make ps's b/c we hate to wait. :)

i don't think you're planning to much, but i plan a lot so i might be biased. LOL

It is always better to plan and cancel a PS than be disappointed without one! I am a huge planner, the way I figure it, I avoid disappointment.

One of the big attractions for me at WDW is the food. I like to try different restaurants and types of food. Its easier for me if I make PS for one meal a day. Usually I'll pick dinner and then we'll just snack earlier in the day.

DH has a really difficult time making decisions, particularily about food. He's been know to wander around our local fair for 1 1/2 hours trying to decide what he wants to eat, only to stop by and get fast food on the way home.

This way there are no decisions and I'm guaranteed to get to eat at my choice of restaurants.

Hope this helps.

You've convinced me that I haven't gone insane. I guess I'm just not used to planning this much for vacation. We usually go to resorts where you just lay aroung on the beach and eat whenever you smell food.:p Less than 2 weeks to go...I can't wait!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
