Am I asking too early?

Thanks, everyone who has answered my questions so far! So here's my other question. . . I understand that they can only BOOK 11 months in advance, but is it possible that someone would know that they WILL have the points? And so in that case, I could make arrangements with someone -- giving a small deposit now with the understanding that as soon as it's possible they WILL book it for me, at which time I can complete the payment in full? Does that make sense?!?!

Thanks!

11 months in advance at the owners home resort only.....This does make sense. I'm sure most owners pre-plan the point usage and there are some owners that just rent. If you contact them I'm sure you can get locked in with a deposit. Put a post on the rent/trade forum with your request and see what kind of feed back you get....

Absolutely!

Agree with Brownie. If you are trying to ensure soemehing that is popular/hard to get, you may need to pay more per point. Be sure your plans are firm - most rental transactions are non-refundable.

You sound like an ideal renter (plans ahead, knows what he/she wants and is willing to pay in full way in advance) - if I had points, I'd rent to you, LOL! :)

Best wishes-
