Hi there! Just booked our next trip to WDW for early December. We'll be returning to the WL but it'll be our first time visiting WDW at Christmas time! I can't wait!

I have all my ADRs and FastPass+ reservations all made, but I'm asking your opinion on the timing of one reservation.

The last day of our trip is Tuesday, 12/8. We arrive after 10pm on the Friday before so I am trying to maximize our last day in the MK before heading back to the WL to board the Magical Express to the airport. On that day, I made an ADR for lunch at the Plaza Restaurant at 1:10pm (the only one that was available). Our flight out of MCO is at 7pm (domestic). Am I cutting it too close? My thought was lunch, leave the MK by 3:00 to return to WL at 4:00 which is when I am guessing our Magical Express time will be. Am I cutting things too close? I don't have my heart set on the Plaza or anything...but I also don't know how much time to allow for lunch. I just thought one more nice meal before we go. Would you cancel this reservation and just do quick service for lunch as to maximize time in the park and depart MK at more like 2:00-2:30? Thanks for your advice!!

For me, it's too close. I would be a nervous wreck the whole time and therefore, I wouldn't enjoy it. Is it possible to get an earlier ADR?

You need to be at the platform, completely ready to go, 15 minutes before your pickup time (which will be between 3:45 and 4:15.) You need to allow plenty of time to get anything you have stored with bell services and to make a last minute bathroom break. I recommend leaving MK no later than 2:30.

You are PROBABLY fine. Your assigned DME pickup time will be between 3:45p and 4:15pm. Obviously the earlier that is, the tighter your connection. You need to be at the bus stop, ready to go (carry on's collected, bathroom runs done, etc) 15 minutes before that time.

I would be surprised if you're not out of the restaurant by 2:30. Walk to the front of the park and take the boat to WL.

With a 1:10 reservation, I'd show up at 12:45 hoping to get in a few minutes early. If they don't have you seated by 1:45, I'd leave.
