Am I allowed to be nosey and ask how many points you have?

After being a new member of DVC for a whole week and reading this board.. I am so curious as to how many points people have. We bought 270 ... and of course I wish it were more. If this is out of line.. please don't take offense or be mad . I am just curious.

I have 650(400 SSR, 250 VB) plus 2 regular weekly timeshares(ski time in Vail/Beaver Creek and summer in Northern MI).

We bought 280 (160+120) at BLT and we are thrilled with that amount. I can't see outgrowing it anytime soon. But I wouldn't mind having 75 at BCV and maybe 60 at OKW. Or maybe 75 at VWL. Or maybe...

We bought 150 BWV points to start thinking that was enough for us. Then we added 180 at VWL. After that, AKV was announced and we bought another 200. Now we have 530 and we manage to pretty much use all of them each year.

I have 300 AKV and 150 VWL = 450 total. However, I do have 2 EOY and 2 EY timeshares as well. So we have lots of vacations, but not as much vacation time.

we have 400. We purchased 300 in Jan. 07 and then added on 100 at AKV in Aug. I would like a total of 500 but my dd needs money for college too. She said when we added on in Aug. "Mom will there be money for me to go to college next fall with us adding on?"

Okay.. I might sound like a total idiot here... I feel dumb asking.. but...

Why do you buy points at different places? Like, what is the point of having ... 100-200 at one resort and then 50-100 at another (or any other amount.. I just used them as an example)

No, I can't imagine we'll outgrow our points at BLT anytime soon. Adding on somewhere else for home booking advantage every 2-3 years is another matter.

Boy....I'm on the low end of the totem pole with no regrets!!

Just bought 160 BCV. Its perfect for us....for now.

We bought with a Feb use year (haven't even recorded the deed yet). So we are using 102 for a week in January in a studio (just DH and I). I was able to bank the remainder of my 2008 points into next year. We will have enough to have a week in a 1BR at BCV in 09.

I will probably look to add on another 100 pts in 2010. We won't really need them in 09. Twice in one year is all that I have the ability to take right now! I would like to use points in 2010 for a cruise...maybe.

It fits us perfectly!!

It gives you home resort advantage for one thing. You can book at the 11month window instead of waiting til 7 months out... if you don't own at a resort you want to stay at. Plus people buy in with a good incentive so maybe that is why they bought in at SSR and then AKV. Hmmmm LIKE US. Some people buy small resale contracts too. I would love to own at BCV too. Some people love several resorts and want to own contracts at all of them.

290 Total with 150 at VWL, 80 at HHI and 60 at AKV.

At some point in the future, I could see us doing another addon at HHI.
