Does anyone know if there is still DVC availability for a one bedroom May 30-June 5th at BLT?
If I'm not allowed to ask, or if this should be somewhere else, I apologize!
We're hoping to stay at BLT, but to afford it we need to rent dvc. But I'm not even sure if there's availability or if it's worth continuing to hope for BLT..

Thanks for any help!!

DIS rules says that you aren't allowed to ask because it's a waste of time. I check for you now and a minute later someone books the only available room.

If you didn't know the rule, you simply asked an honest question Paisleybell. :) No need to feel badly at all. It has only been recently that I became a pretty regular visitor to these boards and I had seen folks answer availability questions like yours more than a couple of times (giving availability), so one time someone asked and I checked for them, carefully stating that was the inventory at that moment. BOY! Did I get my hand slapped! A couple of people got really testy with me. Like you, I didn't know. But the forum police seem to let it slide once in a while with some posters which I find a bit odd. Perhaps the watchdogs were asleep on those. :rolleyes1

Disneynutz is right that availability can change moment to moment. I have had a room disappear while thinking about booking one I had seen available and I have been a DVC member a very, very long time. I would just check with whomever or whatever agency you are considering booking through. Good luck! :cutie:

Thank you!

If you book now, you should be able to get it.
Unfortunately there's some complication on knowing how long we'll be able to go for.. So it could be a week or so before we're able to book. Since I won't be able to make any changes to a DVC rental.
If I could book now, I would!! Thank you for the information :)
I know BLT is a long shot. Currently we have a reservation through Disney for a BWV room, I just know we'll be spending most of our time in MK and we want to visit Ohana a couple times as well, so BLT would make our lives so much easier.

Once we know for certain, it sounds like it might at least be worth checking. :)

Is it possible for you to go ahead and book at BLT for the days you are sure you will have for your trip? Or would a possible split stay be something you do not want to do? I don't know why you couldn't book BLT now (if available) for dates you're certain of and then if you can add more, see if they are available? The reservations could be cross-referenced if not made by the same member. IOW, you would have both owners give the opposite rez # to MS to notate on the reservation so that the FD would know you want a continuous stay. It would need to be the same category of room of course to try and stay in the same room the entire stay. In that scenario, I would also call the FD about 10-14 days out and let them know of your situation so that they will be aware.

Hmmm, I didn't know how possible that would be. Currently it will either be May 30th-June 5th or June 1st-June 5th.
And we don't plan on using the dining plan, so that makes things a lot easier.
So, if we could get a BLT reservation from David's for June 1st-5th, you're saying that once we know about the other two days at the front of the trip we might be able to get a BLT room for those two nights and we might get to stay in the same room for all of the nights?
I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing ever either, to do BWV for the first two nights, and BLT for the rest. Best of both worlds.

May 30-June 5th in a BLT 1BR? And Lakeview category is fine? I would not be too concerned and would just wait until you are certain. It's not a busy DVC time and I suspect that you'll be able to rent a reservation for that time, even if not doing so for another week or two. We have 2 memberships and frequently will use both and have linked reservations. It's not terrible but I'd skip doing it if not necessary. The larger concern might be if David has points to rent - there was a post within the past week or so that they did not have any points even for a 7 month rental which you would be close to, but of course that also could change in an instant just like room availability can. But you might want to investigate and have another company or even look to rent directly from an owner just in case David's can't help.

Yes, BLT 1 bdrm, lakeview okay. MK view is out of our price range though.

I have looked at another company, however they, too, look like they are having trouble locating owners with points to rent out.
I would be willing to consider renting from someone on here, through the DVC rental board, but only if they have a long history of posting here. Just looking at that board has been overwhelming though. :P

Find someone who can book it for you and ask them. There's no point in checking availability of you don't have the ability to book it then and there.

It all depends on how you ask the question. For example if you asked a somewhat more general question like what are the chances of getting a 1BR at BLT for late May through early June at 7 months out, I could easily answer high if seeking lake or TP view and low if standard view because, for the last three years,1BRs for lake and TP view were open at 7 months out for that time period but standard view 1BRs had 4 to 5 days filled by 7 months out for that period. I could also respond by noting lake view 1BRs were still avaialble for that time period in the last three years at 6 month out.

Haha.. Okay. Thank you for rephrasing and answering my question! :lovestruc
