Am I a Disney snob?

We're probably all snobs. So what!!!

Those other people just don't understand. To be PC, we'll refer to them as "Disney Challenged." But, if they don't reform, we'll banish them to Six Flags!

Long live the Disney Snobs!!!!!

A snob, no. Informative, yes.

Everyone teases me about DISNEY, but who do they go to when they want to know what to do and where to stay in WDW!

ME. ;)

I'm really bad about the parks. When people talk about how cool Six Flags (especially the one here
kotzen.gif
) is I tend to roll my eyes & most of the time they've never been to a Disney park, so I guess they don't know any better.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with non-Disney parks. I like Knott's & want to see IOA. I even thought Magic Mountain was an okay park. But when the name "Six Flags" gets slapped on a pre-exsisting park, it always seems to take a nose-dive in quality. :( The ones that open as a Six Flags park seem to be doomed from the start. JMO.

i love 6 flags!! its one of the best amusement parks around!! that and canobie lake...

That bugs me too! Another radio station was giving away a trip to see the Rolling Stones (I think that's who the band was). The DJ said "Yes, we're going to send some lucky listeners to Walt Disney World in Annaheim, CA to see the band!" I thought to myself "Now, that's SOME trick they're gonna perform to move WDW to CA, or I'd say that's some false advertising.;)"

You're welcome Alan. Thanks Lea Ann.:teeth:

6 Flags is ok, but it's NO WDW! Usually I go on the day all the rude people show up at 6 Flags. I miss Opryland.:(

To be fair I've only been to the Six Flags in the sun belt states, but the ones I've been to haven't impressed me in the slightest. I don't think it would even bother me so much if they didn't try to sell the parks as "theme parks". They're amusment parks, not theme parks. Unless their theming is dirty, eye-sore, death coaster park...in that case they've pulled the theming off quite convincingly. :teeth:

Me too Shannon! It was an annual event for my family for a few years when I was a kid. I always enjoyed it.

In fact, the Wabash Cannonball was my first roller coaster

:)

My BIL took his family to Six Flags Atlanta earlier this year and he commented on how dirty everything was. In his opinion, it was like being at a carnival instead of a theme park.

I don't know because it has been several years since I've been there; I always liked it in the past.

He said it was bought out by Silver Dollar Entertainment recently and things are going downhill.

Have you been lately?

I realize this wasn't the original direction for this thread, but hey, they're fluid, right??

Guess where they got the parts for my RnR at WDW.:bounce: After we left MGM, the bus driver told us Opryland needed to get rid of the coaster to build their #$@% mall, WDW needed a coaster for the RnR. WDW made my coaster come back to life. I LOVE the RnR.:) The Cannonball used to be my fav ride at Opryland.:)

I went to 6 Flags/Atlanta this summer with the kids. It is kinda carnivalish, but compared to the closest amusement park to me (Lake Winnepausakah), it's not all that bad. There's tons of rude people there though.

Congratulations. There is nothing wrong with being a Disney snob. We have been so many timies that it is hard to have patience with someone who does not know their way around

This is similar to the original post about the radio contest. There was one here a while ago and the quesiton was "Who is Woody's girlfriend?" The caller said "Jessie" and they called her the winner. But Jessie isn't Woddy's girlfriend, that is Bo Beep, Jessie and Buzz however looked like they were getting something started at the end of TS2.

Wow dsneygrl, I wouldn't have caught on to that one! (only saw TS2 once)

Jeff, that makes me cringe too! (WDW vs DL). I also get peeved when amusement parks call themselves "theme parks." Ugh. You have to have more than a themed title to your rides to be able to call it that. I am a Disney snob, but I have to say that IOA is very deserving of the "theme park" title... it is great!

Who wants to make a Disney Snob t-shirt? I will wear mine proudly! :teeth:

to Six Flags any more, they are dirty and poorly maintained compared to Disney, and don't ever get me started on the cast members.

I am a Disney snob.

Rachael
