Am I a "DING" dong?/Should I grab this fare?

Please help! I downloaded ding sometime ago while holding out for August rates, but I don't know if I did it right. I've never gotten "dinged", do airfare deals appear as pop ups? I'm a bit undereducated on these things!

Also, I noticed that right now the fare for my late August trip is $99 each way out of Chicago Midway. That's the promotional fare! Last trip we had $49 each way...stupid gas prices!! I saw the thread here regarding airfare increases May 1st....do you think I should grab this? My folks and I are debating.

Ding fares dont pop up, but there should be a little white "letter" thing that shows up on the ding icon itself when ding fares are available. I dont know if that makes sense to you lol, If I was you I would probably grab the fare if the times you want are available. If the fare goes down you can always get credit towards your next trip.

I highly doubt you will see $49 again. If I was in your position, and I will be when SW opens up next January fares, I would go ahead and purchase. My thought process is this. I am going to WDW for a fantastic vacation. I will probably be spending quite a bit of cash for this experience. Is waiting to see if airfares will drop worth risking the most important part of the trip, the Disney World part. You have to do what's best for you, but this is JMO

According to a recent article in the New York Times, SWA is raising ticket prices as it loses the benefits of fuel hedges. I would lock in a reasonable ticket price asap.
