Taking DD to Disney for her graduation gift. Her boyfriend is going along. I had the PIN code to get a discount on rooms.
I originally booked Coronado for 5 nights 5/10 to 5/15 for $756. Chose no view, no preferred room. However, when I went to book airfare I was unable to use my Delta $99 companion certificate to come home that Sunday. So we would have been paying $398 per person for airfare.
Did a bit more digging. Turns out the flights on Monday were about $130 less. PLUS I could then use the $99 companion certificate (plus taxes). Regardless, by the time I got done booking I had 3 flights for a total of $710 plus approximately an extra $150 for an additional night at CS. So net savings of about $400 when I did real totals.
And I know we will have extra food costs for that additional day, but it won't be $400!!! We may not even use the extra day to go to the parks - maybe go to Blizzard Beach or something or just veg by the pool. We still have a waterpark option on two old non-expiring tickets.
