Hi: We have always loved riverside for the river, trees, shrubs, quietness, foodcourt etc. We stay in two rooms. This next trip we are wondering about trying art of animation suites.

Anyone who loves going to riverside tried art of animation suites how did they like the suites themselves and the grounds.

We bought DVC so we could stay deluxe and we went to visit AOA in February, my boys (14 and 9) loved it and asked why don't we get to stay in fab resorts like this? My husband and I liked the theming but would have hated to stay there it is very loud, busy and chaotic. The food court was very busy, the pool was jam packed, and it was just loud loud loud I didn't find it restful or peaceful. If you love Riverside you may feel the same way

We also love POR precisely because of the beautiful, lush, serene, relaxing atmosphere.

But, as you can see from my countdown banner, we are going to give Art of Animation a try on our next visit. The main reason, though, is that we're bringing our young niece who's never been to WDW and she will go absolutely bonkers for the total Disney immersion at AoA.

We've stayed at all levels and we enjoyed our value stay, but I will agree that they tend to at least feel louder and busier. It will be a relatively short stay at AoA so, even if it's a less relaxed atmosphere, I'm sure we'll still have a good time.

I think if you keep an open mind, it is worth a try. Going from moderate to value, you will miss some of the amentities that moderates provide, but it is always nice to have a new experience, especially at a new resort.

I would definitely give it a try.

We loved AoA! It's been our favorite resort so far. The whole look of the resort is so Disney. The food court was very good. The pools were really fun. We thought the bus service was fantastic. Can't say enough about it.

We have stayed at CBR and POR but last year stayed at Pop so we could stay longer. My boys and I loved it....my DH hated it. He did like the bus system better, and he loves the look of AOA so we are going to give that one a try in 2014! Still undecided between the suites or LM room but I'll make that decision when package pricing comes out. My guys would flip over a Cars suite!!!

we are going in august staying at AOA, we usually stay at the campground in the cabins but stayed at POR and CB last year. we are staying at AOA because my 2 year old granddaughter will be coming and this is her first resort say. we will have me, hubby , dd17 , dd 21 and the little one . we also have an accessible room. I am now thinking we will be squished up in a LM room! thoughts opinions on room size?? thanks!

Ditto. I am not a light sleeper yet had issues with in room noise as well. Food court is INSANE and choices and nothing like you are used to at POR. The theming is FABULOUS, but you won't see me back there any time soon--and I normally stay at value resorts.

Staying at POR in a few days and have stayed at CSR and POP.....that said, yes the values are busier in all ways, etc. but for us we did the waterparks so we only did the resort pool a time or two (did waterparks during our POP stay only). My kids loved POP and were disappointed that I booked POR this time. Ate at AoA twice. I LOVED it. They had different choices, the tandoori options were awesome but not everyone likes that. My daughter loved the spaghetti with turkey meatballs....... if the noise isn't an issue why not give it a try or consider a split stay?

We have stayed at both POR and AOA and loved ten both but for very different reasons. POR had the lush tropical grounds that are relaxing in themselves. I like the food court at POR better because if the make your pasta bar and having the choices at POFQ too. The whole feel of POR I'd relaxing and feels like a vacation within a vacation.

At AOA we were not bothered by the kids or crowds at all. We had s corner room overlooking the pool and heard nothing at night unless someone was right outside our door. The theming was amazing and we were in awe every time we turned a corner. I also like the way that the value resorts have a line system for the bus so nobody can cut ahead. And he big blue pool was very impressive.

We are headed back this fall and have chosen POR again because we will be traveling with another family who does not have children with them, but when just my family goes again it will be AOA all the way. :). Hope that helps!
