Always go to parks?

What I'm wondering, because as you know if you've been reading for awhile, I'm trying to decide on buying into DVC, is for those of you who go 2,3,4 or more times a year, do you always go into the parks and if that is the case, do you go w/ an annual pass or do you just buy the Park Hoppers?

Thanks,
April

We normally go at least once a year, in December for my birthday. The first trip we took as members, we bought PH+ passes and had a couple of days and a couple of plus features apiece left over. Then last May we got a cheap airfare deal so we went down for a few days, and knowing we would be going back in December, got PAPs. We then snuck in another trip in September, and are looking at getting another one in before the PAPs expire. We probably won't renew the PAPs (unless there's some terrific deal), and may go to DL or DLP this December instead for a change of pace. The only other time we bought APs was during the 25th anniversary celebration, because we were going for a 12-day trip, and then got 2 more trips in before they expired. (It's dangerous getting those APs, especially with the DVC membership; you start thinking 'the vacation's almost paid for already', and before you know it, you've borrowed all of next year's points!)

April, Glad to hear of your interest. Saw you in chat last night too. We are new members but we will be going this year twice, and last year we went once, but for 13 days. This is our second year with an AP. I have heard if you go to WDW at least 8 - 10 days a year it is usually worth it to get an AP.

We go anywhere from 12 to 22 nights per year. We have annual passes which are ideal for that. Don't go to parks all those days. However, as we stay at BWV, there have been a number of days where our only park visit is to Epcot's World Showcase for dinner and the AP is handy for that kind of activity (you aren't worried about using up a day on a pass, like you would with a hopper, when you just go to a park to eat).

drusba, you took the words out of my mouth. This year, we will spend 14 nights at WDW (15 days). We know that we will be going to Sea World, Busch Gardens, Discovery Cove on a few days.

But we are getting AP's because we still will be doing at least 8 or 9 days in the parks (all day). And even when we go to off site attractions, we can still go to a park for dinner or Illuminations or something that we would never do on a hopper pass.

The AP is the ultimate in flexibility, especially since we are staying on-site at DVC and the parks are so accessible. :)

I go two or three times a year for around 8-10 days each trip. My last trip was 14 days. I always get a PAP. I, like others have said here, love the flexibility of not wondering if I should use a day or not. If I want to go to a park for 10 minutes or all day, it doesn't matter.

We only can go once a year for 6-7 days, so the AP doesn't make financial sense for us. We buy the Hoppers but usually visit the parks only 4-5 days out of each trip. The great thing about the Hoppers is their indefinite dates for use; we have some from Feb '01 that we will be using in Apr. 02.
