has anyone done split stays with Aulani and another part of Oahu? I am looking at a few nights in Waikiki before going to Aulani and do not want to hire a car. I know everyone will try to convince me that it is no big deal but for me it would be. I know a taxi would be very expensive. I was considering taking theBus to the airport and then a speedishuttle from there but it looks like the Bus doesn't allow luggage, despite servicing the airport (strange when many other places are different to this). I've found one reference to Star Taxi on TripAdvisor but info was old so I don't know how good they are. I'm not keen on the taxi idea as I would prefer the certainty of a flat rate, even if it is a high flat rate. Any suggestions from others who aren't confident drivers?

I can't speak to anything specific, but you could look into limo companies on Oahu. Most limo companies will also have sedans, which would typically be a flat rate and cheaper than an actual limo.

I've only found references to Charley's taxis having a fixed rate too/from the airport not shuttles that will take you elsewhere. I guess I'm just going to have to call a few companies closer to the time and see if any will quote me a flat rate for what I want. The a Star Taxi has got a Waikiki to Aulani rate of $80 listed but their site is very basic, it says they only take cash, etc. I'm all for them keeping the running costs down but I'd want to be sure they're OK before going with them.

Have you looked into Uber? We were thinking about using Uber from Aulani to go a couple places...but since Aulani is far from the more populated areas, like Waikiki, there doesn't seem to be too many cars in the Ko Olina area. But I am willing to bet there will be a lot more cars in the Waikiki area that could take you to Aulani. I like that the app can tell you about how much the fare will be too.

We are using Kings Shuttle. They are a flat fee. We are currently on Waikiki and we used them to get here from the airport. We are using them to move to the Aulani this weekend, only $76. We have them set up again for trip back to airport. I checked with Charley's first, but they were a little rude at my initial contact, so I looked elsewhere, and kings turned out cheaper...so far, so good. Set it all up over email.

We used Platinum Limo to get us everywhere and they were amazing. They have sedans and SUVs.

We use Mark & Yula whenever we are on Oahu.

Friendly local couple, they mainly do airport transport, but they will arrange tours or sightseeing.

We're Australian and hiring a car wasn't an option for us either. Unfortunately we had to just hire a cab from Hawaii Kai to Aulani which was around $150 US each way for 6 people I think. TheBus wasn't running early enough for us to get in for the character breakfast we were doing and it's unreliable AF anyway. You could catch TheBus into Waikiki and get a cab from there depending on where you're staying. That would have cut the journey down significantly for us as Wakiki was about halfway between where we were staying and Aulani. Good luck!

More ideas. Thanks. I haven't found reliable looking reviews of Star Taxi.

Do let me know how you go with Kings Shuttle. I also eventually found a mention of options for Waikiki to Aulani for Hawaii23 - was a bit small on their website.

I had thought about theBus but I'll have a suitcase and apparently that's not allowed. I find it amazing that they have public bus service to the airport but no large bags allowed onboard.

I've still got a few months to work it out so I'm sure I'll find something cheaper than just taking a taxi.
