I know there is a thread for Alunai Logistics (as I am subscribed to that)..but I am wondering if there is a way for us to find out the details on what activities will be there at the resort.

Example...I want to take surfing lessons and am trying to determine if it would be offered at the resort....vs having to take them elsewhere.

I probably won't find out too much until after they open, but was curious if anyone already knows.

We have a reservation for Aulani in the first month of opening.

We got an email from the resort the other day with the following message...

Dear xxxxxxx,

Hello and thank you for being among the very first to book a stay at Aulani! Magical things are happening in Hawai‘i. And we're thrilled that you're going to be a part of this whole new kind of Disney enchantment at Aulani.

Every day new wonders are springing to life to give you the Hawaiian vacation you've always dreamed of, with the perfect touch of Disney magic.

Be sure to keep an eye on your email between now and your stay! As soon as it's available, we'll give you all the information you need to book spa experiences, dining reservations, exciting excursions, kids' activities and more. In the meantime, you can explore all the amazing things there are to experience at Aulani when you visit disneyaulani.com.

Mahalo lui noa,

Your friends at Aulani

I'll keep the boards updated if and when any additional information is sent out.

Thank you soo much...appreciate it! will look forward to more before you go and then LOTS after you come back:banana:

For surfing lessons, I recommend going to Waikiki beach. There are several old time bona fide Hawaiin surfers who sit under yellow umbrellas and give surf lessons. The lessons are less expensive than through any of the resorts and I would imagine more fun since they are taught by old dudes who have surfed for many years.

As with anything in Hawaii, there is a photographer who takes pictures and sells them afterward.

Thanks Presely....

Great idea.. My concern is I am only on the island for 48 hours or so. We land at night...goign to Aluani for only two days. So one full day and then we fly home the 2nd day at 6:50 or so...

We were going to try to stay at the resort if there was enough to do etc..

We are going to Maui, Kauai and BI too...so may need to do the surf lessons there, but seeing what we can do at Aluani as we were hoping to enjoy the resort!

From my understanding there isn't a lot that is close to the resort..

Oh, yes, if you are island hopping and can only stay 2 days, surfing would be good to do at the resort. If Aulani doesn't have their surf lessons set up when you visit, it is next to a Marriott, so maybe you can do it through them. Have fun!

I'm jealous of your trip! I haven't been to Kauai, but have been to the other 3 islands. I've always thought island hopping would be a nice way to go. I guess you just can't go wrong in Hawaii no matter how it is done.
