I am 41, and I had a partial hysterectomy back in Sept. One ovary was left. I had hot flashes right after the surgery, but they went away. Well, for the last month or so I have been having hot flashes again. The waking up several times a night because I'm going to spontaneously combust is a real problem, and I have them during the day, too.

I can go on the HRT, but I'd really rather not. Are there any herbal or homeopathic remedies that worked for you?

Acupuncture has really helped me. They've pretty much gone away. I go once a week. It doesn't hurt at all, very relaxing actually. There are lots of herbs out there too, the website women to women has some great info. Good luck!

Keep in mind that most medications are plant based or based on human hormones (many have not been synthesized though) so taking herbal remedies are pretty much the same as taking hormone replacements and if you are taking any medications you should consult your DR before taking any herbal treatments because you can have severe interactions.

Thank you for your help!
