Alternative To Deluxe Concierge?

Hi Gang

For us staying at a deluxe Disney resort is affordable but at the top end of our price range. For us to do concierge at a deluxe resort (at $400-500+++ per night) is too much and we simply can't afford it.

I was just wondering if anyone goes out grocery shopping for snacks and stuff (that would take the place of the food provided by a concierge room). I don't want to go trapsing through the resort carrying a bunch of grocery bags but I also don't want to pay $30 every time I want a little snack especially for our little ones DS5 and DD1.

Lots of people bring groceries to the resorts. If you take a towncar from the airport, most will make a 30 minute grocery stop. You can "load up" on snacks, soda's, milk, even bread and cold cuts. (The deluxe's now have fridges.) There are even grocery store delivery services that will deliver your groceries to your resort for a small charge. (I haven't used any, but I'm sure if you ask on the budget brd, they'll be happy to supply you with names.)

As long as you don't do any actual "cooking" in your room, snacking, eating cold breakfast & even making cold sandwiches is perfectly fine!

B/y/w, concierge rooms are not really "food replacement". Yes, you do get breakfast (cold, snacks, and beverages), but you'll still need to purchase meals. We spend a week at the CR, 14th floor concierge last fall. I'd say we "saved" maybe $100 out of our usual food budget.
