Alternative to Chef Mickey's dinner

We have always enjoyed Chef Mickeys and like being able to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy all in one spot. The recent bad reviews of dinner here are making me re-think things. Is there any other place we can see all 5 characters at dinner? We are not big breakfast people so a character breakfast is not an option. TIA!!

Cape May dinner has Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Minnie (I think? We ate there last summer--I'm a little fuzzy on who was there).

That's the closest I can think of.

Cape May only has a Character Breakfast. Dinner is a Clam Bake. I've heard good things about The Garden Grill. As fas as Chef Mickey's, I think the dinner gets a bad rap on reviews. We really enjoy it. It hasn't changed in the last several years IMHO, and if you've liked it in the past, I say eat there again!!! Have a magical time!

Garden Grill does have Mickey and Pluto.. But the other two characters are Chip and Dale. (I love them!) This is a family favorite of ours. :)

We ate at CM's the first of the month and loved it. I had wondered if I would like it with all the bad reviews but for our first time there it was great. I am glad I didn't change it.

We LOVE Chef Mickeys. We ate breakfast AND dinner there Thanksgiving week. Food is good and characters are great! Reviews are usually personal opinion ---like I just gave mine---and everyone doesn't always agree!

Animal Kingdom has a breakfast with Donald and when I went it was Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and I think Daisy. The food was good and the interaction was good.

Thanks for the input. We will probably just keep it and cross our fingers that it has not changed as much as some of the reviews have said!

I was also skeptical to eat there, but we had dinner there in November and it was fine. It was certainly not gourmet dining but it was much better than I expected given the recent reviews. The character interaction was great and the food was good. We will definitely eat there again next year.

We ate there the first week in December. While we all agreed that it wasn't as good as the other places we ate during the week, none of us would have classified it as "bad". Overall we agreed that it was ok. There was certainly plenty of of food and enough choices that no one went hungry. Being able to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy all at one time without standing in line more than made up for the ok food.

We won't go back, that's for sure. We ate there for the 3rd time in early December. The food was slopped all over the buffet counters, it seemed to take a while for them to put more hot food out, and it took forever to get drink refills. Big disappointment.

Another vote for the Garden Grill! :thumbsup2

I do want to say that any restaurant at any day can have its ups & downs. People rave about Le Cellier in Epcot but we are not big fans. Take everything you read on these boards with a grain of salt. Maybe you would LOVE Chef Mickey's! We have been twice and thought it was great.

Happy Planning!

Just ate at Chef Mickey's on Monday night. I went in with low expectations b/c of all the comments on this board. Only booked it b/c I promised my kids. Well, we were all pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was neat as a pin, buffet fully stocked and hot. The mashed potatoes were yummy so was the beef and mushrooms - I couldn't stop eating it. The soup was potato and ham - very good. Lots of selection. Now of course it wasn't fine dining but all 7 of us enjoyed all the food and of course the desserts!
Others also complained of rushed character interactions - but we felt it was good, no rush, my daughter even danced with Pluto!

We ate at Chef Mickey's for the first time the first week of December and loved it! Buffets are not my favorite but the food was decent and the kids liked it. But what I especially loved was the characters and atmosphere. We found it very laid back and comfortable. We got seated right away and everyone was very nice. It ended up being our favorite of the week.

We had an early dinner ressie during Thanksgiving week at CM and we really enjoyed our meal there. The characters came around at least twice and were very interactive. Much more than just the standard picture and signing the autograph book. We also have eaten at the Garden Grill and it is a lot of fun too with great characters. The food is comparable at both, not the best but good enough.
