altering Reservations?

So here's the sitch.... for financial reasons I'm thinking I might need to cut my trip length.

We're booked at POFQ from 12/14 to 27th. We had a great pin code - 30% which covered the 14th - 24th. but the last few days are at full price. The last three days alone are costing almost $700.

I have a room only ressie, it's about half paid off. If I call and alter the reservation - dropping the last three days (One of which is covered by the pin code) would I lose my discount? Or would they just reduce the days and the price?

The CM will just take off the last 3 nights and your total will be adjusted. You will not lose the discount on the other nights .

Oh good thank you! I was pretty sure that was the case, but I wasn't positive. I'm hoping I won't have to do this, but I'm looking at all the options. I'd rather cut a few days then cancel the trip.

You're welcome . I agree....it's better to cut a few days than cancel the whole trip. Good luck and hopefully you won't have to cut any days .

Remember, you have up to five days out to cancel, do you see the situation changing and you bring able to keep any of them? I'd hate for you to cancel the days thm try to add them back only to have no availability. Just a thought....

Oh definitely - I'm hanging on to them until I know for sure. The nature of being self employed is that everything could totally turn around between now and then. I figure I'll wait till beginning of Dec to make a decision.

My first choice is that I'll be able to keep everything exactly as booked. My daughter really wants to be in the park on Christmas day, so I'm thinking about just moving off-site for the last three days. I could probably save about $3-400 doing that. Or we might just try to get down to Ft. Laud and surprise my dad for Christmas.

I figure it's best to have some sort of back up plan.

Can you change 1/2 your trip to a value.. IE instead of cancelling the days you have undiscounted, stay those at the POP?

Funny enough I'm on the phone with them right now trying to find out!

Edited to add: So I can transfer my entire reservation over to Pop which will save us $492. So that's an option... Just not sure what to do yet. But at least I know what my options are. so that's something. ...

that's good to know! Totally understand here about the self employment thing, hubby works ER in two places, we blocked off the dates but would not commit to a package until I had a firm December schedule with him off in my hand! As it was I had rescheduled this trip twice from the original date ( next week). ARGH!
