who left the water running up there?

8 days of rain, and another rainy day coming tomorrow.

Long Island got a season's worth of rain in just one week.

I'm one of the lucky ones -- the worst flooding in my town was on a couple of streets, it blocked traffic for a few hours, but no real property damage. some people on the south shore had to evacuate their homes at high tide.

You don't live in the northeast by any chance, do you? It's only been raining since last Saturday here, but about 1300 people had to evacuate from the south central part of the state. We're having flood warnings where I live too. I forgot what the sun looks like. It's supposed to show itself on Sunday, but I'll believe it when I see it!

ETA: Okay, I'm dumb and just saw that you mentioned Long Island.

I remember this happening about 25 years ago. When the sun finallyb came out, everyone's eyes hurt, it seemed so bright.

The area that was flooding a week ago in NH is under flood warnings again, and those flood warnings have been expanded to areas where the water was "just" high before. My unlce's town is now bracing for flooding, and so are several others. The pictures from last weekend are downright scary.

Southern Connecticut reporting in. It stopped raining! It's not sunny, by any means, but it isn't raining! However, my basement had 4 inches of water covering the entire floor when I got home from work yesterday. We've been pumping and bailing and shop vac'ing for 18 hours now and we've finally got some dry spots! Unfortunately, I was behind on my laundry so I have several loads of wet clothes I'm trying to wash today.

This rain has been a real nightmare. However, there are many who have it much worse so I'm trying not to complain too loudly.

8 straight days of rain here too.. A week and a half ago the water level in the lake had dropped to the point where the 20 foot walkway to my dock was all on dry land - now half of it is under water.. My high-rise sand castle is history - washed out to sea..LOL

Yesterday I had to drive over to one of the bigger towns to get some groceries and such and ended up drenched just from running back and forth to the car..

The foliage is just about peak here, but with the rain and gloomy skies it doesn't look all that pretty.. Wish the sun would come out before all the leaves blow off the trees.. When it does, the colors will be awesome! :flower:
