Alright, here's the thing...

I have a courtesy hold on a reservation for the free dining plan for the week of Sept 5-10th.

It's going to take a couple of more days to figure out if we can go.

Will there be any GOOD ADRs left in about a week??

Are you allowed to book ADRs without reservations?

Thank you!!!!

We just booked for the last week of August with the free dining and we just last night planned where we would like to eat our dinners.

I am going to call this evening to make our ADRs so I will reply again tonight and let you know how that went. Honestly, I dont think I will have too much difficulty as we will be very flexible. We will book early/late, whatever we have to do.

Good luck with your plans!

I just called a couple days ago to make ADR's for our Sept. 1st-10th trip, and we got every restaurant for the day/time I wanted with no problem, including the Hoop-de-Doo Revue. I'm sure there will be plenty of good ADR's left. Just be sure to be flexible with your times, and have a backup plan in case you can't get what you want.

I don't think you can make an ADR without a reservation, since they ask for your reservation number when you call to make the ADR. I'm not positive on that though.

I just booked my ADR's last week for Sept 17-23: Restaurant Akershus for dinner, Hoop-de-Doo, Crystal Palace for a breakfast and a dinner, and dinners at the restaurants in England and Mexico in Epcot.

Every request was granted for the day and time I wanted.

Hopefully, you will find the same availability. I had a full list made out for other options. I had no idea that my "plan A" for dining would be all I would need!

I do believe you can make reservations without a hotel ressie, people come and eat when they stay off property, nobody ever asks for your ressie #, they will ask what hotel you are staying at, just answer the one you intend to stay at. Meal ressie do not have to be directly tied to a hotel ressie as far as my experience anyway.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE STAYING AT WDW TO MAKE A DINING RESERVATION.

Orlando residents and off site guests make reservations all the time for WDW dining. You just tell them you aren't sure where you are staying yet. We booked our dining options before we booked our vacation and airfare because we had some hard to get dining spots we wanted. They don't care!

There are some limitations due to the free dining, such as LeCellier, but you shouldn't have a problem finding something each day. CALL NOW!! =)

Thank you!

I want to make a reservation at Cali Grill, and I know they need a credit card. I'm assuming this is refundable if we don't end up going??

If CG is anything like the other places that require a credit card, it is only refundable if you cancel before a specified time (24 or 48 hours prior, I can't remember). The credit card will be charged if you don't cancel and don't show up, that is why they take the number - to guarantee the reservation.

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and made my ADRs. Now I can calm down!

FYI, the cancellation policy on the CC hold for Cali Grill is 24 hours notice.

Here's what I got:

Spoodles (new for us!)
Jiko
Crystal Palace breakfast (new for us!)
California Grill
Le Cellier (new for us!)
Artist Point (new for us!)
Chef Mickey's breakfast (new for us!)

The only ones I didn't get first choice of time for were Crystal Palace, Le Cellier and Chef Mickey's. Everything else was WIDE open!!

Thanks again everyone! Hopefully we actually get to GO! :cheer2:

Good for you. Here's to hopng all works out. We are so CLOSE to canceling, due to big unforeseen expenses (car, house A/C), but I'm really trying to juggle everything to try to go. DS10 says he'll eat bologna sandwiches each night if he needs to. Of course, it's not that bad, but may use that for a dinner from time to time.

I see that you managed to get some awesome restaurant choices.
I did manage to get ALL of the dining requests that I wanted as well.
Here are my ADRs:

Aug 24th unplanned
Aug 25th Yachstman Steak House
Aug 26th California Grill
Aug 27th Le Cellier
Aug 28th Mama Melrose
Aug 29th Hoop De Doo Revue
Aug 30 unplanned
Aug 31 unplanned
Sep 1 Spoodles
Sep 2 Le Cellier

I am amazed that we got Le Cellier (our favourite Disney restaurant) 2 times!

SO....for everyone out there that are worried about booking ADRs, just be flexible and you should have no trouble!
