Hey everyone!

Quick introduction: I have been a fan of Disney World ever since my parents first took me in 1997. Now I have been back a few times with my fiance and we're planning a wedding in January 2013. We are both fanatics so it's the perfect venue for us!

I definitely like to get below the surface of Disney magic and explore the details and hidden treasures of the parks. I have tons of books on the subject and read through them all the time.

I'm in the early planning stages of my wedding and I'm already foreseeing some struggles with traveling with such a large group. I am going to have to seek out the right forum to post a some questions about this to see if anyone has any tips.

I'm already obsessed with the boards so you will be seeing a lot of me around!

Hello!! These boards can be addicting, it's a great Disney Fix when you need it!!

Congratulations on your engagement!!!! And Welcome to the boards! It IS addicting, isn't it? It's okay, though, there are far worse things we could be addicted to!

I haven't been to Disney since I was a child (5 times 1975,76,77,78,79) Now I have children of my own that are 10, and I am planning on going from feb/05-feb12 2013. When should I be booking my room? I already have plane tickets as I snagged a great deal. What ifI book a room, then a deal comes out afterwards? or free Dining after I book a room with a travel agent?

Welcome to the DIS! That's great that you're planning a trip for next February! You can book the room anytime - you can always change it. It's super easy to do. We've done it quite often - turned it into a package, changed resorts, added free dining, etc. etc. There's a wealth of information here on the boards that will help you too. Have fun planning!!!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info! Do you usually call Disney directly, then call them back to make changes, or do you book through a TA. When I spoke to an agent just to get info, she said once I book, it's a done deal. She called it the "Book and Don't Look", so you don't see deals later and be disappointed??

I am too hands on with my planning :rotfl: I couldn't let someone else book for me, just in case a dining code came out or another deal that I want to use. I do book and hold off in paying off my trip until right at the due date to take advantage of any discount that comes out. If you hoping for free dining and know the places you want to eat at, go ahead and make those ADRs early.. you can cancel the ADR if free dining isn't available for your trip.
Have a Magical Trip!!
