Already booked - can I still get discount?

I am sure this has been asked many times but....I booked a few months ago to be sure we would get the resort we wanted. Now new codes are out for during our stay. Do I have to cancel my reservation and re-book, or can I call with my existing reservations and have the new code applied? It looks like I could save $40 a night on our room at WL.

Nope, just call and ask if they can apply the code to your stay!

You can get the discount only if there is rooms still available with the code, in other words..........like me I booked the WL rooms before the codes and was told that I could apply the codes to the rooms once it came out, but there still had to be rooms available being offered at the codes, they only discount so many rooms with the codes. I have been able to get codes applied to my nights at the WL in Oct saving about 140.00 a night but was only able to do that this week after trying for the past 2 weeks to do it. My Dec. dates I have only been able to apply codes to 2 of my nights so far and am still at rack on the other 2 nights. It's a lot of juggling but well worth the money. It's going to depend on when your days are.

That's good to know Chyam! I was considering booking for April 2005 only if I can get codes because $239 a night is kinda of pricey for us to stay at WL or AKL. So do you book the whole vacation and then when the codes come out, you try to get as many days during the trip as you can with discounts? I think the beginning of our vacation maybe busier than the end.

I had read a post where someone was unable to get the codes applied so asked the CM to check each day and was able to get the codes for some days but not others but as it got closer to the departure time was eventually able to get the codes applied to the remainder of the days.............the only problem with this is that you have to make a deposit......Like I had originally booked my Dec. trip Nov. 30- Dec 5th made a one nights room deposit for that I could not get the codes applied to any of it, I kept calling and checking the website everyday, I found the WL was available with a code for Nov 30 thru the 2nd so I booked that online, had to again make a one night deposit on that booking then called and cancelled those 3 nights on my original reservation and kept the other 2 nights at rack rate, hoping that I will eventually be able to get a code applied to those rooms before I go. The problem with doing it this way is everytime I make a new reservation I have to make another room deposit, so if I do eventually find those 2 nights I will have to rebook and make another deposit. I know this is the hard way to do it but I am one of these people that has to have my plans made not wait and hope that something will open up. Also another problem with this is the CM said I may have to change rooms since essentially I have 2 reservations.........Nov. 30-Dec 2 and Dec 3-5th although they do try to keep them together if when I book I explain to them what I have done.........
I hope this makes sense..........although if you choose the AKL I don't think you will have that problem since there almost always seems to be rooms available there. It's just that the WL is very popular in Dec.
But when I made my ressies for the WL in July it looked like it was booking very fast and I wanted to make sure I had my days since this has become a tradition the first week in Dec. for me. There were just so many email postcards that people were getting that I knew the pickins were going to be slim once the codes did come out..............but as many have said there are always cancellations, I just couldn't stand the suspense any longer

The answer as mentioned is maybe. We had a res for October for ASMovies preferred room at rack rate booked back in may. When the discounts came I tried calling right away and by the time I got through, they only had standard rooms available for the discount, we could not apply it to our existing res. We took that. Really wanted the preferred room, but now we are saving $35 a night over our original rate. More to spend yippeee!!!!!!

Heads up if you want Unlimited Magic passes (ultimate park hoppers):

The second day costs less the the first, the third costs less than the second, etc. Each time your ressie is split for example to get days one or two at a time under a discount code, a new UMP begins with a first day. Also you will not be able to order UMP in advance since you need to drop the last day on all but the last ressie.
