Hi all ,

So today while at work I figured that with the busy schedule we have on our plate a hotel 15 minutes away may not be our best option..sooo we are looking into staying at the Anaheim Plaza hotel and suites or the Alpine Inn.

I have searched for both..but was hoping for some more up to date thoughts ? I have something booked for Anaheim Plaza for $81 a night for King Bed room - or can do Alpine Inn for avg. $89/night.

Just 2 adults who basically stay all day but want the option of breaking midday without having to drive. Breakfast is negligible as is parking.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Alpine is about an 8-10 mins further walk, but the rooms are slightly better. If you are looking strictly at costs, Anaheim Plaza parking is $4 a day, Alpine is free. Last time we stayed at the Anaheim Plaza, internet was $10 a day, Alpine is free. I would compare Trip Advisor reviews and decide from there.

Oh, if the pool means anything, the Anaheim Plaza pool is slightly better than the Alpine.

Thanks for the reply ! We won't be using the internet as thats what our smartphones are for..I'm just doing the classic "over thinking" it pre trip.

We had another hotel booked but when I realized how little time we would be there..saving an extra $120 or so even with the parking..seems like a no brainer. I'm not picky about rooms and just me and DH we sleep like the dead lol.

Just looking for any real recent thoughts and it's appreciated!

I am very much of the mindset that I would rather spend more money at Disney than on the hotel. I have stayed at both of these. Anaheim Plaza last year, and Alpine the year before. I'd say these two hotels are pretty comparable to each other. Alpine does have free "breakfast" (wrapped pastries, coffee, juice) which was more like snacks that we took to the park with us. Anaheim Plaza has an in house restaurant with a breakfast buffet that looked really good. I don't know if it is good, as DD convinced me to do McDonald's instead. I did like how close Anaheim Plaza was, but that's coming from a mom with a six year old who was really tired walking back each night. Bottom line: I'd do Anaheim Plaza because it's closer, but wouldn't hesitate to stay at Alpine either. :)

I have not stay at either property but we were considering Alpine Inn for our last trip. I even booked them online. I had to cancel the reservation so I called them and the clerk was so unbelievably rude to me! I was asking to cancel and he cut me off mid sentence, telling me to do it online and HUNG UP! I was shocked! When it came time to rebook our stay we chose another hotel. Customer service is pretty important to us and I figured we could get a similar room at a similar price somewhere else! Just wanted to throw my two cents in!

I'm sorry to hear you had that experience. We decided on the Anaheim Plaza and to say 120 bucks , lol. The walk is close and all we want is a place to lay our head..anything else is just gravy lol.

I did alot of reading..it's pretty middle of the road and I expect for what I pay for so have realistic expectations..most of my trips growing up were in Motel 6's anyway so I only started staying in actual hotels the last few years..and even then we were paying for things we didn't use..so it seems silly. I hope you find things that work for you !

We've stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Inn a couple of times now and have been satisfied...we got what we paid for and then some. Our rooms have been clean and reasonably quiet. The walk across the street is very nice, only about 5 minutes. Its not the Disneyland Hotel, but then neither is the cost. The quick walk to the gates is a real bonus.

I have stayed at Anaheim Plaza Inn a couple of times for last minute trips. Older place, but quiet and clean, and pretty close. I would stay there again.

I have friends "in real life" that love the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and have stayed there for years. So based on that and some recent reviews on here, that is where we are staying in October.

They do have a good breakfast selection from what I hear and it's $9.95 per adult and a child eats free. There are pics of the selection on their website I think.

My son is really looking forward to the pool because it's an Olympic size pool :-)

I have stayed at the Anaheim Plaza twice and am booked there in May. It's no frills, but clean and close! I book there because I can save money, and most of the time, I only want a place to sleep.

Thanks everyone ! DH gave the word that we are moving our ressies there due to proximity and saving quite a bit. I appreciate all the valuable input from everyone. You guys rock :)
