I will probably take a Solo trip to DL here in a couple of months. I was just wondering, how is it going alone? Does it make being there any less fun? Less enjoyable?:surfweb:

Does anyone have any good or bad expiriences from being at DL alone?popcorn::

Does every attraction have a single rider line?
:grouphug:

Last summer I chauffeured my DD, then 17, and her then BF to DL for a 3 day stay. I was "alone" at DL for that time period and had a blast. Could eat when I wanted to; could hang out and rest in the Animation Bldg whenever the mood struck; and could meander around DTD at my leisure without thinking I was holding up anyone.

Being alone at DL is the ideal time to take in experiences that you've always wanted to try! Go for the new dining experience or sit and people watch!!

Not all rides have single rider lines but these do: Maliboomer; Mulholland; Splash, GRR, and Soarin' to name the ones I can remember!!

I would love to go alone!

If you go in September, there are plenty of people in the Sept thread...maybe you could meet up with them/us? Bonus family!

I've never gone to DL alone or considered it until my friend did it this past spring. She chaperoned a high school band trip and was on call via her cell phone for the kids but basically alone in the parks most of the time. She told me how much fun she had wandering in and out of the shops, deciding when to go on a ride and which rides she really wanted to see. She walked at her own pace without having to worry about anyone else. I think it sounds like fun!

I was by myself for 9 hours until my friend finally arrived. I had no problem getting into a restaurant, it was "Party of one, we can seat you now." I shopped without interruption, and I sat in DTD and listened to the musicians. It was very relaxing. I didn't do any rides on my own because I really don't care if I ride a ride or not, I go to DL just to be there. Every ride does not have a single rider line, but the ones I can think of are Splash Mtn. and California Screaming, I'm sure there are a few more.

I was at a convention in January and couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to Disneyland even though I was alone. I quite enjoyed myself....I was much more relaxed, ate when I wanted too, could stroll around and people watch, had fun calling friends back home and telling them were I was at (everyone was jealous!!!) and had a great time riding the rides I wanted to. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to go alone if it came along again.

I was there by myself on July 10th.
I had a blast.

The best advice I can give you is MAKE USE of the single rider lines, specially at DCA.

Also, make sure you ask the Disney photographers to take pictures of you with your own camera as well...

enjoy.....

I've done the trip solo a number of times and think it's great. Not all rides have single rider lines, but many of the top rides (Splash Mtn, Screamin' and Soarin' for instance) do. It's also fun 'cause in inevitably start talking to people around you.One benefit is there's nobody to argue with about what to do, where to shop, what to eat and so on. Also, you can do the parks at your own pace.

I'm leaving tomorrow and may or may not be traveling solo. Either way I know I'll have a good time.

Is going to Disneyland alone less fun? NOT BY A LONG SHOT!!!

I go all the time by myself -- and I love it, Love It, LOVE IT!!! I can be totally selfish (in the best possible way) and do exactly what I want, when I want, without considering anybody else's wishes but mine! (Mine! Mine!!)

Going solo completely frees up my Park experience. I know I've done things I might not otherwise have done with others in tow (such as the Fantasmic Buffet). I can decide to go on a ride on a whim {"Oh, the canoes are running! I'm gonna go!"} or as many times as I want. I can spend as long as I want looking for that one perfect souvenir or collectible. I can eat whenever and wherever I feel like. The list of benefits goes on and on....

I can't think of a single bad experience I've had as a result of being alone in the Park. And, though I am alone, I never feel lonely, because I am always chatting with Cast Members and striking up conversations with people while waiting in line. I've met some fabulous people from all around the country that way.

I've got another solo trip scheduled for early September, and then will be going with a friend in mid-October. Although I am sure I will have a good time then, it will still be something of an adjustment. I have really spoiled myself with my solo trips.

Have a great time! :wizard:

I love going alone! I have a 3 year old, and I always take her, so when I get a chance to go by myself, it is a real treat!

I take advantage of fastpass and single rider. For everything else, I bring a book to read in line. I find a nice sit down restaurant and eat slowly, without cutting up anyone else's food, without having to share, or having to ask someone to please sit down and finish your lunch. I read a book while I eat. I enjoy the silence...it is pure bliss.

And then I always stop and get my DD a DL treat before I come home!

I'm going alone next month. I love going alone! I love my friends and family, but it's really great to be able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. You can't beat it! :thumbsup2

When I used to travel to southern California on business I would go to the DLR several times thoughout the week for dinner and to take in a few attractions. It was a wonderful, relaxed way to get to know the parks. On the occasions when it was necessary that I stay over the weekend I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour and would go early in the morning before the crowds arrived. I've now been to the DLR several times with others and enjoyed that as well, but it's a different experience than a solo trip. Enjoy!
