The ohana and I are planning a trip to Southern Cal. this October. We plan to split our trip between Disneyland (DGCA) and San Diego. I want to stay at the Hotel del Coronado, but the hubby doesn't think its worth the points. While there, we plan on taking the kids to Sea World, the famous Zoo, and Legoland. Is the Hotel del Coronado is a good choice? Is it worth it?

The Hotel del Coronado is a beautiful, historic hotel right on the beach. In fact, the Grand Floridan at WDW is modeled after it. It is located on Coronado Island and about a 20 - 30 minute drive to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.

You will enjoy your stay in San Diego. Make sure you explore Balboa Park, Old Town and all that San Diego has to offer.

We just stayed there last May for a weekend and had a wonderful time. The resort and beach was beautiful and our room was great. We took the Old Town trolley around San Diego and spent quite a bit of time at Balboa Park. There are several good resturants within walking distance.

We'd go back in a heartbeat.

We paid cash using a discount code from The Del Discover Club newsletters, so you might want to sign up for them on their website (we didn't have any points available to use).
