...are my fingers tired!:rotfl2: It has taken me 5 days, but I've done it! I have read every post!:lmao:
A big hello and thank you for everyone that has contributed info and pics. This is only our second trip to Disney. Our first trip was great, we stayed at Pop and had a great time, we were a little rushed because we wanted to see everything.
2 years later my Dh said "book it" so we booked CBR. Well we paid off our trip/airline and I started diving into the DIS threads.
Now you darn poly lovers got me really longing for a longhouse! DH said no, too expensive:headache:
I noticed Sunday that there were summer dates added to the special offers on disneys site..35% off a deluxe...I gave it a try:wizard:
"so DH I wonder if we called Disney if we could upgrade to Poly, they might let us do it at this discount they have, it would be like $60 more per night"
I gave hime the phone...he called...talked to the girl for awhile...and said DW get me my wallet!!!!!!!:dance3:
I am over the moon, I know going from a value to a deluxe is going to ROCK! We are looking forward to RELAXING this vacation, since we rushed it all in last time.
I am :rotfl:at your story. That's almost exactly how DH and I got to the Poly! Congrats on the upgrade!

Those of you that have stayed CL. Have you all had the great experience that I am having with them? Amanda is amazing and terribly helpful. If this is the foreshadowing of things to come for our trip, I am truly beside myself. This trip is so important to us, we are coming off the very worst year, 2009, of our lives (i.e. my father died, my mother died and I needed surgery because they suspected cancer, didn't have that Thank God) so every little thing they have done for me seems monumental. OK I'm done, just got a little emotional there lol.
I'm sorry your 2009 sucked. Like you, I'm having great experiennce with the Poly IPO. Can't wait to get there.

Oh--I just saw my ticker--it's almost down to 3 months__ days! It just makes it seem that much closer! We've been planning this trip for over a year so time has seemingly crawled by. Come on June!

Has anybody seen the new Hawaiin print shirts/dresses on Disney shopping.com? I am so temted to get one of those dresses, but I am thinking DH and the kids(DD16 and DS13 when we travel) would revolt if I got us all matching outfits. We could wear them for the luau or to Ohana, after all! ;)

Those Hawaiian outfits are cute! But my family would revolt too...

so what's the deal with the AK and DHS bus service? lots of bad reviews -- full buses, long wait times.

Is it actually wiser to walk to the TTC and get a bus there? Or does that have problems of its own?

Any veteran input appreciated....

They are cute ... and you can get 20% off if you buy two or more pieces! Perfect if you're getting the matching outfits! :lmao: While our younger girls would love it, DH & DD18 would have a stroke ... I might just have to do it just to see the reaction on their faces! :rotfl2:

Have to remember the same Poly bus goes to the Contemporary first, so if they have guests (or early entry participants) wanting to leave the same hour you do, its going to be loaded! We've waited 20+ minutes for the bus we want for far off parks. If we are impatient, late or have dinner reservations, a cab is a good option. But its $15 or so.

Thanks for the heads up! I do like the outfits, and I know DS9 and DN4 would wear one so maybe..... :teeth:

I have to go check those out!! They sound cute (and yes, revolting for teenagers I'm sure :)

I found AK and HS buses from the Poly to be fine. I think it depends on your timing (when you get to the bus stop). I have had consistently LONG waits and rides to and from DTD and would highly recommend a cab to/from the POLY/DTD. Hope that helps!

We found the bus rides to and from the Poly to be long... Is it faster to take a bus from the TTC? Does anyone know how often they send busses to the TTC? I really wouldn't mind the walk at all if it's a better ride.:confused3

I totally agree with the PP -- we have learned the hard way and now take taxis to and from DTD.

I'm thinking of changing resorts for june, from 2 br SSR to the Poly, I've always loved the poly!! We'll need 2 rooms, which is a little more expensive, but is it worth it? Please give me the skinny!!!!

The Poly is wonderful but do you have a 2-bedroom booked at SSR? I've never stayed there but it looks very attractive - just not as festive as some of the more richly themed resorts like Poly and AKL. Having said that, depending on the size of your party, you might really enjoy the space at SSR , especially if you have it booked at the great 45% off Deluxe Villas code. Not to talk you out of the Poly by any means but 2 rooms can be $$$$$$

We are no longer park commandos, so I don't have a lot of recent bus experience but last March DD and I looked for TTC and Poly buses when we departed DHS and just took whichever bus came first. If TTC arrived first, we hopped on and just walked to our room in Niue from the TTC. No problem :hippie:

Dawgdad -- did you request via phone notation with a CM for your Tahiti 3rd floor location, or did you do it just now with the online check in?

I guess I am wondering exactly can you request via online? I remember reading not much except first floor, etcetera....

We have Garden view - DW, DS 4 and DD 9 -- thinking asking Tahitii with balcony (really want the balcony so we have somewhere to when (if) the kids conk out at night....) --I am torn between Tahiti, Tokelau, or just asking for balcony and leaving location up to the Tiki gods....

Have booked woods view every time at WL and every time I have been upgraded to Courtyard/pool view with a great view of the water parade and slight view of fireworks -- and NEVER put in an advance location request..... so skittish about requesting now and losing my mojo...

I always make the request when I initially book the rooms (and every time I call about ANYTHING - hehe). The only requests you can make with online check-in are crib, first floor, and 2 others than I can't remember but didn't apply to me.
If it were me, and I was going GV, I would request Tahiti or Tokelau simply because of the proximity to the TTC. Also, with these 2 buildings there is no possibility of a parking lot view. But again, you could leave it up to the Tiki's and when you get your assignment and are unhappy, just ask for other options. Unless you are there at a very busy time, there will almost always be other options. Especially for GV.

Thanks for the advice, we do have a 2 bedroom at SSR, there's 3 adults, and 4 kids in our party, so 2 rooms are key. It is more expensive, but we think it's worth the expense. It's for my friend's graduation from college. Myself and DH have always wanted to stay at the Poly, just never have. We don't have the 45% off pin, we have the military 40% off pin, with deluxe dining. 2 of our meals are AT the poly, the rest are at the parks. I haven't called yet, but I will probably tomorrow. It won't be THAT much more expensive....and I'm willing to go up a bit in price. Thanks for the input, it's greatly appreciated.

We did the TTC thing most of the time..not a bad walk from where we were(Hawaii building).

We will be at the poly in a month!:cool1: We can not wait...we are not doing parks all day so we will have plenty of resort time...my dh asked me to marry him on the beach at the poly while watching the fireworks many years ago so now we are going back for our LONG awaited honeymoon!

looks like we will be there around the same time ;)

Our dates are not definate until I find decent airfare. The prices are finally coming down and when I find a fare I like then I will book! I am aiming for 11/30 or 12/1 arrival. We have 12/4-12 booked at the Poly for now so we shall see :thumbsup2

Also watching airfare too over here! Last year we decided to stick around for Thanksgiving and all we did was roll our eyes and wish that we in WDW. So this year we want to go back to leaving on Thanksgiving. Typically, the prices were lower to travel on the holiday, but this last year it was more expensive???

Work has been crazy and I still need to finish my trip report from 09. It helps me get my WDW fix though. I am also helping my sister plan a trip. The challenge here though is she is not a fan, she is just doing it for the kids. She originally was thinking she could just fly in for the day and just get it done! Now at least I have her talked into a long weekend, she questions what we see in WDW. I am trying to get her to book the Poly so she will "get it".:lovestruc

Finally! Airfare is down so I think I might book our tickets today which will make our dates Official. We think we have decided on thise too!

Although I have about 100 days until ADR time :rolleyes1

I am helping a rookie friend plan her trip which has been a lot of fun though :thumbsup2

Happy Friday everyone :dance3:

Happy Friday to you too!:yay:

Happy Friday!

I woke up to more snow this morning. Dreadful. For a few days I thought that winter was over. I was wrong.

I just keep reminding myself that in 64 days happiness will surround me with sunshine.
