Whoo Hooo! Am I the last one left waiting to go :confused3

I have a ton of laundry, cleaning and packing to do and here I am on the DIS :surfweb: So typical!

I think all my travel buddies are there already! Only three more days for me :cool1::dance3::banana:

Hopefully maiapapaya or mickey2minnie1 will check in soon and DisneyFamily123 will come back and update us!

I better get moving!

I am still waiting to go!! LOL I haven't even started packing yet..my week will go fast with all the Halloween parties this week. My DD12 was home sick Thurs, Fri and all weekend..I was sick the same days..but am feeling better...So far DD7, DS5, DH are hanging in there and not getting sick!

Does anyone know if you can give airborne to kids under 12??? I am going to the store today to pick up some stuff for the trip.

They do make it for kids but I could not find it. I just gave DD a half of tablet :confused3 I am on Vit C and airborn overload!

Happy packing :goodvibes

lolol..I am starting the airborne tomorrow...for the entire week! Everyone is getting it..Does your DD mind taking it?

I can't wait to hear from everyone that is coming back about the Poly!! I am obsessed with checking the weather.. I am finally in the time frame where I can see a tad into november with the ten day forcast!!

Have fun all of you there now and going soon! I've got soooo long to wait, but I love hearing how excited you all are! Hope you have great weather and everyone stay healthy!

First time staying at Poly & I'm so excited. Will be staying CL LV & was wondering if anyone knew of any room numbers I can request that will have a great view of Cinderella's Castle? :santa:

3507 was nice, but so was 3505. Frankly, I've never had a bad lagoon view in Hawaii. :thumbsup2

I haven't read through all of these pages yet, so please excuse me if this question has been asked already!

We are staying at the Poly in May and are looking at doing the luau. For those of you that have done it, did you think it was worth it?

We are trying it for the first time next week. I will let you know upon my return :thumbsup2

I do know it gets mixed reviews but I really want to see for myself! I figure our third stay at the Poly, it is about time we try it!

Yes I do. The plot of the show was kind of corny but the fire dancers are awesome. The food is good (not great) but there is plenty of it. It was really a fun night.

I'd have to say "no", but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it for yourself.
The show & plot were lame. The fire dancers, on the other hand, were awesome.
The food was ok - definitely not anything I'd want to try again. There was however, unlimited beer & wine.
Our grandchildren, ages 3 & 6 at the time, were mildly interested for the most part, to put it politely.
For $50 - $60/per adult, I think you can do better.
That said, the atmosphere was nice and you just might like it alot. We didn't...
Gretchen

I loved the old show but not so much this show. I prefer the more traditional luaus. My daughter, 16, really liked it when we went in 2007. We'll go again next year because it's her graduation trip, but I wouldn't go if it was just my DH and I. I think you have to try it for yourself, because everyone's tastes are so different!

My DD age 11 loved the show, especially the fire. But, unless you are first to book a category 1 space, I wouldn't bother to pay the extra cost. We paid for level one and had horrible seats; really had to strain to see the show. There were category 3 seats that had a better view than ours due to those seats being elevated. It is not worth the food either - less than average. And, I suggest you make another ADR that evening unless you want to eat at the fast serve places - if it rains, the show is cancelled and you are out of luck. When were were there in July 2009, it rained 3 out of 5 nights we were there and people were scrambling to get into O'Hana or Kona Cafe; O'Hana even extended its hours to try to accommodate guests.

This is a totally self-serving post as I just wanted to see my ticker now that I'm under 1 week!! Woo hoo!!! :cool1: :banana: :yay:

Well, I made progress today! The house is clean. The laundry is done. :laundy:

No one is allowed to wear anything between now and the time we leave that they want to bring! I am done with laundry! :rolleyes1

According to the weather forecast it is going to seem we will need more warm weather clothing than cool weather.

DD is all packed and still has plenty of room in her suitcase! So as far as I am concerned...more room to bring stuff home :cool1:

Tomorrow is a long day of work that I am sure will drag forever!! But alas, will be my last day for 10 days! Ahhhh, a well needed break! After work I plan on some pampering in the style of a mani and pedi for me and DD! Then I am sure I will pass out! :crazy2:

Tuesday is finalize packing and get everything ready to go before DD and I head out to see Miley Cyrus! :banana:

It it is a wildly busy last 48 hours and I pray all goes well. :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went many years ago then again last year. We will probably go again on our next trip, too. Corny show, but we loved the fire dancers and thought the food was pretty good. It might have helped that it was my birthday and I go to go up onstage with the other birthday "kids" and learn the hula last year. I even got a kiss from the MC (I forget his name).
Funny story...
Before our first family trip to WDW, I asked my then 2 y.o. DD whether she would prefer to stay at the Grand Floridian or Polynesian. For whatever reason, she picked Poly. We went last year and loved it-- had room 1037 in Tahiti.
This year, we are staying in Poly again-- her choice a second time, even after visiting the GF (she said she thinks Belle lives there) for dinner.
So, yesterday, my DH & DD were talking about our next trip ( not the Jan '10 trip, the one after)... and he says "Don't you want to stay at the GF-- you remember,where Belle lives?" (DH always stayed at the GF growing up).
And she says "No, Daddy, we can't. We can't leave the Polynesian all by itself!" Clearly we are a Poly family in her eyes!
