Will do. We don't usually leave the hotel on our one-night stays, so I'm not worried about getting around. We'll stop for dinner on our way out and bring deli subs and drink for an evening snack. Once we check in, we'll do our best to wear the kids out in the pool (and me out in the exercise room ) so that hopefully we'll all be too tired for that "too excited to sleep" feeling and get a halfway decent night's rest before we leave!

That's what we use Merriman's for :rolleyes1 but I remember the times of needing to wear out the children. . . :lmao:

Let's talk day beds. Our daughter will be 2 1/2 and likely still sleeping in her crib when we go, but we thought about just putting her on the daybed to sleep. Can we attach the bed rails they provide to the day bed? Are there linens to make it up there in the room, or do we arrange for housekeeping to set it all up for us?

I will also look out for it! Keep us updated though. Also, keep calling lost and found...it may turn up still! I hope we can find your precious pics

Thanks so much! Like I said, I know it's probably a lost cause, but this is our last shot, it seems. I keep thinking of the pictures that are on it. My grampa was the vet of the day at MK, the kids dancing together in the Cinderella and Prince Charming costumes...I just hope it happens to be stuck somewhere that people wouldn't have noticed unless they were looking for something. Thanks again to everyone who will keep an eye out for it. :flower3:

Just booked Poly for our 3rd Anniversary we will be traveling with our almost 3 year old. I booked a garden view because that was all that was available. I was hoping when we get there they may have a CL room I am willing to pay but has anyone experienced that? Can I ask when I get there? I would never expect a free upgrade I am just wondering if it's even okay to ask?

You can always ask for an upgrade. Our rule of thumb is, though, that we don't ask for it if we aren't willing to pay for it. Since you are, go for it. We stayed at BC for part of our trip last month/this month, and they had nothing but standard views when I booked, but we were (free) upgraded to lake view upon check in. You never know...

If your willing to pay for an upgrade that's ok and you just got to hope a Club Level room is available. Also have you thought about checking to see if a room becomes available for arriving?

Now if you were to ask for a free upgrade I read on here that will never work and Cast Members don't really like it when guests do that. Now in general when guests get free upgrades it's usually done a few days before by the Cast Member doing room assingments for the upcoming days, so that's what makes them random when it happens to someone when they check-in.

The linens are on the day bed. It folds out easily. We had our DS 3 stay on it during our last trip, we brought our own bedrail, it went under the mattress easily. I think mousekeeping can provide you with a bed rail. Hth

Hey Poly Lovers!

I have a BIG favor to ask of anyone headed to the Poly soon. The Poly is our family's first love, but we are trying out some of the other resorts, too. Of course, we spend a lot of time at the Poly during each trip. Well, this trip we lost our camera there (on October 2). It had seven of our nine days' pictures on it, including the one we take of the kids every trip with the tiki statue outside of Boutiki to see how they've grown. :( I'm so sad we've lost those pictures. We think we left it on the grassy area between the beach and the NW corner of Hawaii or it fell out of a pocket on the couch facing out toward the pool nearest to Boutiki. We've called the Poly lost and found to no avail, and I'm sure the cleaning staff has cleaned these areas, but just in case...if you happen to be in either of these areas, would you keep an eye out for a pink Sony Cybershot? Maybe take a peek behind the couch cushion or the bushes near the grass? Thanks so much.

If you find it, you can even keep the camera if you'd upload the pictures somewhere. I know it's a long shot, but it's the only one we've got now. Thanks again.

I just saw your post...any luck yet? I'd keep trying lost & found and hopefully it'll turn up. I'll go down and look around in a minute while it's still light and see if I can spot it. I know how much pics mean and they are irreplaceable. I'll see what I can do...

gottagetmydisneyfix,

I think they do have apple juice in the CL lounge, at least at breakfast. My neice doesn't drink orange or any other type of citrus, but does drink apple and I know she had juice with breakfast every morning. If you call or email they'll probably stock it for you. My sister asked for yogurt the first day of our vacation and they stocked it for her every day. She just needed to ask because they kept it in the back for her.

I just ran down and looked around the area you mentioned but didn't see anything...it looks as if they keep that area cut/maintained pretty meticulously. I also went inside and looked in all of the sofa cusions facing the pool on the Boutiki level floor. I went to the front desk and talked with a young man named Manako who told me they clear out the Poly lost & found everynight, but gave me two phone #'s (written on LIME GREEN post-it's. LOL!) Here they are=== (407) 824-2192 for Poly main L & F and (407) 824-4245 for the MAIN L & F (for ALL of the 47 acres of Disney :scared1:))

Hoping some pixie dust showers on you & you get your camera and pics! :wizard:

loperella...how sweet of you! I hope someone finds the camera! :wizard:

I am curious to hear reviews about the new CL menu?

I was reading on the Tikiman site that they are implementing a new system to help control the portion you take to help solve the issue of people loading their plates? With the new menu with some old favs being returned and this new portion control system it appears the Disney powers that be may be listening to complaints and making changes :thumbsup2

Thankfully, DD is much better but we all seem to have bad colds  Better now than two weeks from now. I wish I could keep us all in a bubble the next few weeks.

Tomorrow the suitcases come out and the organizing begins  It is cold and wet here so it is making me long for some Florida sun :beach:

Oh my gosh!! I am so speechless! That was so amazing of you! Thank you so much!! This is the first I've gotten wind of the main lost and found, so I will definitely give them a call in the morning.

Again, thank you so so so much! You're too sweet, and I really appreciate you. :flower3::flower3::flower3:

Hello........I was wondering if someone could tell me if they do the Hula dance lessons daily in the lobby and if so what time? :confused3 I would really love to get some photos of myself & DD (4) doing this during our January visit. TIA!

I think it varies during the year. I know in December it was at 3:15 most days of the week. You should be able to catch it at some point during your stay.

Maybe someone who is there now or just came back has their Island Palm Press which lists the resort activities.

Call the main lost and found, you may be surprised. When we were there in May, our son lost his cell phone and had no idea where it fell from his pocket. We went to the main lost and found the next morning at opening (9:00 a.m.) and they had the phone. :scared1: We were so shocked that it was there. The only question I had was why they didn't dial the phone by using "Mom" and/or "Dad" to let us know the phone had been found. :confused3

In any event, all turned out well and he had his phone returned within 24 hours of its loss. :cloud9:

My son had a little tantrum when we were there last time and took the Iphone out of my bag on the Safari and threw it at the Lion. :scared1:I thought it was gone forever and only told the CM so an animal didn't eat it or get cut by the glass. Well she said she would go out and get it for us and I couldn't believe it. They turned it into Central Lost and found when my husband went there they said they can get up to 500 lost items a day from every park hotel etc....
