karriealex, i didn't see your post about check in and i am sorry for how things went for you. i really hope things are looking up now. i do think it sucks when you are CL and you check in and whoever you get is blase--one of the perks of CL is supposed to be that someone takes care of you right away and you don't have to wait (or try to find someone to help you). When we stayed at BWI last year we had something similar--we got there and there was no one to help us; finally I found someone who basically told me to go do regular check in. I knew that wasn't right, but had to actually say, "um, I think someone is supposed to accompany us upstairs to the 4th floor?" and then someone did take us up there. But it was a very un-magical beginning to our stay (which ended up fine). I totally get that.

I also get being a little bummed when you learn you weren't upgraded. Who wouldn't love a free upgrade!? And when you hear about it happening to others, you know there's a chance and of course could feel a little let down if it doesn't happen.

i am sorry, too, that your room is all the way on the other end of the hall. Did you ask if you might be able to change rooms?

Hi poly peeps. My update:

Well we are here. We arrived on Saturday and got to the resort close to 1 and our room was ready. I requested Tokelau and a balcony. An we are Tokelau 1st floor which works for me. I really just wanted this building!

We did chef mickeys that first night and swam. Watched the water parade and fireworks ad then went to bed.

We did DHS Sunday an came back to our room around 1-2 and our room wasn't done. We went to the pool and started laundry. I came back to the room close to 4 to bring my clean clothes back. I wasn't thrilled when I used my key, opened the door an there was a housekeeper with towels. There was no sign on the door saying she was in there and it was shut. There were also no housekeeping carts in the hallway.

Monday we went to AK and got back here between 12:30-1 and our room wasn't done but we needed a nap.

Just got back at around 3 and our room is done.

That is my only complaint about the poly. Well that and the fact that the quiet pool is not deep anymore. When did that happen?

And no morning paper.

Oh and the park bathrooms are so dirty. Yuck.

Tokelau 1st floor in the hallway looks like it had some water in the carpet. And last night we walked thru Tahiti and it had the musty smell and had the dehumidifiers in the hallway.

We're checking in the night before Thanksgiving and I'm sure it'll be a busy night for the front desk. So, I'm super worried that we have zero chance at getting our request (Tokelau building). Is there anything I can do to up our chances?

As I think someone mentioned earlier, the rooms are assigned days in advance, not as you arrive, so it really shouldn't make a difference unless I misunderstand how it works.

That said, our flight gets in around the same time at the end of October so I will report back and let you know how ours went.

When we made our reservation the person I spoke with said she couldn't tell if all the rooms had new/working refrigerators or not, but had it noted that we needed the frig for medicines. Just wondering if the poly has gotten the new refrigerators or if not, is there some place where they will store refrigerated medicines for you?

Both our rooms in Tahiti has working refrigerators. I did notice the fridges in the poly rooms were different than the one that was marked as do not use in my pop room.

Right now I am sorry I posted our experience. I was NOT looking for sympathy and again I was NOT expecting an upgrade and it did NOT ruin our vacation. because we didn't. However other things that did happen are effecting it. I'm done. Thought this board was different but I guess not.

Why the sense of entitlement to a room upgrade? Please tell me it was not because of the wheel chair. I'm an Iraq war vet and expect to get nothing more than I pay for. If you wanted club level, pay for club level. If you were going for the luck of the draw on a closer room, then shame on you for failure to plan. Having the attitude of poor me is infectious. You are the kind I always get stuck behind in a line at a ride or next to while trying to enjoy dinner with my family. Why yes the Peter Pan ride line IS 45 min long...it has been since it was made. Let's all complain about it. You had to wait an hour and a half to get in to the highly popular Be Our Guest? Guess what, you are not the only person in the parks and you are not the only one wanting to eat there. These are all reasons the rest of the world hates Americans. The sense of entitlement, the sense that you are better than anyone and owed everything and then going on to complain to anyone who will listen instead of laughing it off and making the most of it.

Second, can you please copy and paste your thoughts into one of the many spell and grammar checking programs found in all modern computers? It should not take an adult 3 attempts to read a post in a public place and then try to decipher what it says. That is only acceptable to girls texting each other up to the age of 14.

I will not ask you to stay nor apologize for your experience. You are an adult who made adult choices. Grow up, learn from your mistakes and move on.

I feel sorry for you. I cannot stand to see ppl talked to like that but I should have known from the beginning the type of character you so obviously have.. I'm surprised you would even get the Disney spirit. I'm done debating with you b/c it won't matter what's said in the end. Not with you.

Me!!!! We're arriving Sept 5, after 4 nights on the Dream. Funny thing is, I am more anxious for the resort stay, and I've never been on a cruise!!

I don't think karriealex was blaming Disney. I think she was just telling us her bad day. A bunch of people read into it that she was bashing Disney somehow. I think the lesson here is that if you say anything negative about anything whatsoever on these boards... your wife, your job, the fact that you use a wheelchair and it sucks to have to deal with that on top of everything else... just always make sure to specify that whatever you're dealing with is NOT Disney's fault and you DO still love Disney and Disney is still wonderful. If Disney DOES do something wrong, maybe just state that in a separate post and phrase it as a question or a statement about how Disney resolved the situation. "The TV is my room wouldn't turn on - is that normal? " or "Our room key didn't work, but at least it wasn't raining the 20 minute walk to the lobby to get a new one and Disney made sure to make us a brand new key so that all worked out perfectly in the end! " And above all, if they DO do something great like help you find a way to buy a new cord or reschedule a reservation, make sure and let everyone know you are OVER THE MOON about Disney and thankful for all that extra pixie dust, no matter how bad the rest of your day is.

But this is the Poly thread. I expect to find general Poly information and reviews.

I am sorry things did not go as planned, but I don't see general complaining as relevant to this thread.
