I'm so excited, DH and I and our best friends are staying at the Poly for the first time at the end of August. DH and I have stayed at other Deluxe resorts, so what can we expect from the Poly? Is there anything we need to know that may not be in the first few posts? Any secrects?

Our group is 4 adults and a 15 month old, how do the rooms compare to CR, BWI, AKL, WL? Do all the buildings have elevators? I had surgery on my ankle in Dec, but I am not cleared to do as much walking as Disney requires, so I will be using an ECV and have an accessible room.

What time does the monorail stop running? MK has EMH until 2am on our last night, need to have a plan to get back to the resort.

The Poly is awesome and you are going to love it :goodvibes. With that said, the rooms are comparable in size to CR, a little larger than BWI, and considerably larger than WL & AKL. AFAIK, all of the longhouses have elevators. We loved everything about the Poly, but one of our favorite things to do was relax in a hammock on the beach listening to the boat whistles as the boats went back and forth to MK :cloud9:. Have a great trip......the Poly is amazing and you can't beat having a view of the castle from just about anywhere on the Poly grounds :wizard:.

That was exactly what I was hoping to hear. I knew it was a faulous place, we have eaten at O'hana many times as well as Kona Cafe and the QS place, we have rented boats at the marina and passed thru from Shades of Green to the monorail.

We had a huge room at BWI both times we stayed there, it was a corner room and much larger than CR, but we can deal with a room the same size as CR.

We are all about to bust with excitement.

We visited the Poly many times prior to staying there and I couldn't believe it when were actually checking in for our stay. It's an amazing resort to visit, but is just heavenly to be staying there :goodvibes. Did you have a deluxe room at BWI or was it just a big room since it was a corner room?

Just wondering do they give layes to everyone checking in or only people who have requested them? Trying to make our friends vacation the best ever since it is his first time.

I believe they give leis to everyone checking in, and there are special ones for those celebrating an Anniversary.

Yes, they give leis to everyone checking in. As far as I know they do not give special leis to people celebrating anniversaries. We've been there on our anniversary the past 3 years and have never received special leis, just the ones they give at check-in, but I would rather have those than no leis!

Thanks guys! Is there any special Poly packages that I should know of or just the same ones from Disney? I might do the Welcome Package or if they are still doing it the adult pirate package (I'm the only female traveling with DBF and two of our close guy friends).

Or does anyone recommend someone who does the gift packages and would drop the off at the resort for us? I'm going to be on property 3 days before everyone so I may just grab some stuff on my own.

Have you checked out www.Disneyflorist.com? They deliver to the resorts and we've always had GREAT service and products from them!

There is actually a lady in the lobby that makes the fresh flower leis 5 days a week and she does give then to anniversary couples. We always stay Poly for our anniversaries and haven't received them yet..

I have a question. Does the Poly charge you nightly to park? I don't remember them doing that the last time we were there but I heard mention on the Universal Board that Disney does now charge at the resorts. I know for sure that Universal Resorts do charge 18.00 per night.

That's interesting!! Now that you mention it, I think I do remember a lady being there making fresh flower leis. We've never received the fresh flower leis either. I wonder if she has to be there on your check-in date to receive one?

Nope. Parking is still free for resort guests.

Thanks so much for the quick answer. I am glad they still aren't charging. I still need to set up my envelopes with the tips for mousekeeping so I was going to do the others too if they were charging.
