ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: June 2013

We don't have an ADR for dinner on the 1st, so that could work for me. The 2nd in the afternoon could work for me also, since we have breakfast and dinner ADRs (Tusker House and Boma) but nothing planned for lunch.

We have a late BOG dinner ADR on the 1st and a dinner ADR at 1900 Park Fare on the 2nd, but I think we may stick around the resort for the majority of the day? I'm still finalizing plans...

We are doing the dessert party on the 31st and Spirt of Aloha. Can't wait. We did the dessert party a few years ago and loved it. I am hoping Aloha isn't too much food and we can make it on time for the dessert party. We are doing the 5:15 show.

We have the fantismic dinner package the 2nd so we can't make it that night for a meet. We are planning on coming back to the resort most afternoons (hoping to last a littler longer into the night this year if we tour this way), so an afternoon meet may work for us too.

I'm going to look for the fb page! We have Dessert Party ressies on 8/1, so 8/2 would be better for us. My name is Jennifer. Here's a couple of pics of us:

OMG!!! There are a huge amount of BOG ADRs for 7/26 I just scored one for 6:50!!!!

Jealous of the BOG ADR! We didn't book this trip till April so I was well past our 180 day mark. I think we are gonna just do a lunch or maybe try for a walk up, who knows we may get lucky.

I found one for us at 9:00pm one of our nights. I snatched it up as soon as I saw it. I believe it was 5 months prior (they go so fast!)

I keep trying to find an earlier time for the kiddos and I am trying to see if an ADR opens for Ohana sometime during our trip. The only ones I have found are after 9:30pm.

If you can go on a day in July there are a bunch available. I called and got 6:45 on 7/26. The server kept telling me it was busy so I called and got the ADR!!! I am over the moon!

I don't want to give you false hope, but let me tell you what just happened to us last week. I had an 8:40 pm ADR at Ohana and unfortunately my whole family was ready to eat around 7:00 pm, so I took the chance of going up to the podium and asking if we could get in earlier than our current 8:40 pm ADR. The CM said most likely not, but he said we could check-in and be given a buzzer and they'd buzz us if they had a no-show. Long story short, we got buzzed in exactly 11 minutes after checking in! We were so excited. My whole point is that I think it helped that we had a current ADR for later that night. By checking in early, I think we had first dibs at an opening. Good luck ~ Ohana is usually always our best dinner in Disney.

Got a call today from poly IPO and they got us BOG for July 28th!!!!!! We were on their "keep checking" list. I wonder why all the BOG openings????

We tried that at BOG in January. Had a reservation for 9:30 and decided to check in early. I think we for there around 8:00. We waited and waited but didn't get in until close to 10:00. We were the last people seated for the night. But it was worth the wait

I got it from another DISer on the Team August thread. 3rd time I'd tried to coordinate with someone who was canceling theirs and I finally got it. Actually added a night onto our trip because of it!

Have you stayed CL before? I contemplated booking us for CL but decided to go with the deluxe dining plan instead. The cost to upgrade was the same from going from the regular dining plan to deluxe dining. I am back and forth about it, but with just the dinners we have booked I think it's better for us to go standard view with deluxe dining. It's so hard to figure it all out. I'd love CL though.

what the what?? I just checked 7/25 and there are several dinner openings. Then checked 7/21 since we don't have dinner plans are in the MK that evening...there are, again, several!

What's going on?? I might snag the early one and ask DH and the kids if they even want to eat there later

Is the food supposed to be ok? I haven't even read too many reviews of dinner because I could never get a reservation!

Hmm I'm wondering if I should take the 945 in September and try to get in around 6?

We had a 9:25 'Ohana ADR and tried to get it at 7. We weren't "buzzed" until after 8:30. It really depends on how busy the restaurant is and if anyone cancels.
