ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

When the delivery company brings the basket, the folks out front should take it and deliver it. Delivery companies are not supposed to be running around the property in the guest buildings.

Oh yes... I know that they can't deliver it themselves. I was just asking if they needed to drop it off outside or in.

Thank you for the cabana pictures!

Looks like you had a great view.

I'll stick with that cabana - $185 ok, $300 will make DH's head explode!!!!

If the company with which you are dealing does much work with the hotels in the area, it may already be familiar with the policies of the Polynesian and/or Disney.

When pizza people arrive and you aren't our front, it is bell services that rings you to let you know the pizza delivery has arrived. I would think that bell services would handle it directly, but at the very least, the bell services desk is where to inquire about proper procedures for delivery. I would advise the delivery company to ask for information at bell services upon arrival.

Hmmmmm, summer AP rates came out today and I'm scheduled for vacation in late June. . .oh yeah, and I currently have no firm vacation plans for that week--Disney or otherwise.

I'm having a bit of difficulty actually pushing the "Book It" button, but I'm thinking we might just have to drive on down for five days or so. Guess I better get to work on my husband. :rolleyes1

Here some photos of the "premium" cabana. There were guests using it so had had to take my pictures from afar....

It looks like the 'premium' cabana is where the hair wrap station use to be? Is that gone now?
:confused3

Yes, I believe where the premium cabana is is where they hair wrapped. I'll check and see if they are doing it somewhere else.

Here are some from our cabana from yesterday:

Is there any benefit to doing online check in? According to the website we can check in for our May 10th trip next week on April 30. Does doing the online check in make any difference with room requests??? We are hoping for 2nd or 3rd floor in Tokelau or if thats not available then a room in Fiji. So, not sure if we should just wait to check in at the resort. Any info is appreciated. Thank you

It definitely speeds up the check-in process. If it helps with your room requests I can't say. One trip it helped us and another it didn't. :confused3 But it definitely beats standing in a long line for check in... if there is one. :thumbsup2

THe hair wrapping is just right across from where it used to be. If you are standing at the zero entry area and looking at the castle, it is to the right. :goodvibes

I need to post a box to the Poly and my last possible day is tomorrow (Thursday) if I want it to be in by next Friday. This Friday is good Friday, so no postal services and nothing before next Monday. I am in panic mode right now since I don't find what to write on the label and I don't find the address neither to mail it to the Poly. Can someone help? Please?

1000 thanks,

:tinker:Poussière de fée!

Hi Cilvy,

Check out the Shipping to Resorts FAQ (the first post) has the information you need on how to address your package. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

We're doing a crazy trip in June with 3 nights at POFQ, 3 at Vero Beach, and the last night at WDW.

Right now we've booked our last night at WL but I'm looking to possibly upgrade to POLY CL for a Father's Day/Mom's Birthday/Parent's 30th Anniversary as a surprise. My parents have never stayed CL before and I thought this would be a great present and way to unwind after a week at WDW/Beach! We just stayed at WL in Dec so Poly would be a nice change and give us tons to do since we won't be doing parks our last day & 1/2.

*Questions...

Do the showers at the pool have shampoo/soap?

I read that the 2nd floors don't have balcony's..Has anyone had a room like that? Are you able to pull the chair up and make your own "balcony?" It's not a deal breaker since we're paying for Garden View but just more curious.

Our DME will pick us up at 3pm so we'll have a pretty good amount of time to kill if we aren't able to get late check-out for 1pm. I've used the health club showers when I stayed at YC CL and they had everything you'd need to shower. It would be nice to know this to plan ahead as far as packing/shower supplies and I read that you can use the Health Club at GF but didn't know if they supplied shampoo/soap/towels/etc at the Poly pool showers.

THANKS SO MUCH!

no soap

there is sliding patio doors but it stops abruptly. you could pull you room chair to the doors but it is mostly for you to stand due to the wooden railing that would block your view sitting. We have stayed in balcony and non balcony rooms at the Poly CL and neither seemed to bother us.:thumbsup2

Well he almost caved on the Polynesian, but after much discussion, we agreed to spend less and stay at BWI. Our kids need to broaden their horizons :rotfl2: and we truly do spend most of our time at EPCOT.

I'm kinda' bummed, but for $1,000 less it makes more sense since Ron and I will be headed back in October AND we had not planned to take the kids this year anyway.

Counting my blessings that I now have a trip to look forward to (even if it isn't at my first choice hotel) that is a bit closer. :dance3:
