Me too
I am so excited about our trip. I think we will be down around the same time.![]()
Did they give dates for the quiet pool rehab? We
will be at the Polynesian from July 18-26. We aren't big swimmers but I have requested Tahiti and wouldn't really want to hear a lot o construction noise. Thanks.
im going july 19th-29th when are you going?
mmm, sounds yummy. I can see myself skipping dessert and having this one night. Thanks!Tropical Macaw is soooo good! It has a coconut rum on the bottom, melon liquor next, pineapple juice and then cranberry juice. You can see the colors layered. It is light and fuity sweet. I had one every day of my trip and I am not a drinker. $8.50![]()
Margaritas are always on my listMy favorite Poly drinks are the Backscratcher (two kinds of rum, fruit juices and Jack Daniels), and the Patron Platinum Margarita (if Clinta or Francisco are there to make it).
Thanks--sounds like a lighter option. I wonder if I can try all of these....I love the Polynesian's drinks but one Pina Colava really fills me up! I like their X-fusion lemonade which I believe they now call a Poolside lemonade. It is x-fusion liquor (passion fruit & orange flavor), vodka, and light lemonade. I like that this is a lower calorie option (especially with the light lemonade which is only 5 calories by itself) to round out the decadent drinks that have a cream base (like the Pina Colava).
I do suggest you take a look at their current bar menu (at the bar or poolside) and try some of their current drinks. They are popular for a reason! But there are definite favorites from Poly fans out there!
Good to know--my teens will like that.I thought it was raspberry puree......because the Pina Colava can be ordered as a non-alcoholic drink, too. And it's SO good either way.....![]()
oh no--here's hoping it will be after the 4th. We're supposed to have a GV CL.Heads up we heard the quiet pool will be closed in a couple of weeks from now. The quiet pool is having a mjor oerhaul that wil make it a shallow pool and possily a hot tub. The info came from rec staff. Gottta go
BabyFu18,
It looks like we'll be at the Polynesian around the same time. We will be there from July 18 to the 26th. See you there!![]()
Hi,
Sunsrcibing to this fantastic thread.
Visiting Polynesian for the first time this August.
Would you like a trip report on a view from someone from the UK?

I'll be there the 23rd-28th!!Oh, it looks like it's going to be a DISfest at the Polynesian come mid-July! AWESOME!!! Hope everyone has a magical vacation!!!!

I'll be there the 23rd-28th!!
I REALLY hope that they don't close the Quiet Pool until the summer is over. The Volcano Pool is crowded enough as is!!
July 14-24..... can't waitNervous about the crowds and heat. We will stick to our touring style: tour early, take a mid day break and then tour at night. Hopefully this will skip the worst of the heat and crowds.
See ya there![]()
I guess I am the only one who doesn't care if the Poly has a hot tub or not. I don't use any hot tubs unless I know how they have been cleaned. Hot tubs just gross me out.
We just got back last night from a week at the Polynesian. We have gone to Disney many, many times but this was the first time staying at the Polynesian. I Loved the resort and the rooms. We were right near the quiet pool. The beds are very comfortable and the room is just lovely.
The parks were extremely crowded. We usully go in Septmeber and there was a major idfference. We use to go in June quite often and leave the day the kids got out of school and it was more crowded then we ever remmebered except for the 25th Anniversary year and the crowds we saw this week were very close to that. The MK stayed open until 3am, two times this past week.
Even though the parks were packed the Polynesian did not feel that way and we had a great time there. Captain Cooks seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the crowd at breakfast, no place to sit and they couldn't get the food orders up quick enough and the register lines were relly backed up. but everywhere else in the resort did not feel overly crowded. We ate at O'Hana's twice and the food was Super! There were even sets at the bar area while waiting both nights.
The one night we went to O'Hana'a it was a man singing and then the second time we went it was the woman who is usually there.
Any questions feel free to ask.
