just wanted to bump up my question since it is so buried by now. for anyone who has stayed at both GF CL and Poly CL, is the variety/ selection of lounge food at the Poly comparable to that of the GF? we loved GF RPC and felt like there were always so many different foods to choose from. looking at the Poly's CL menu, while the foods sound delicious, they sound a bit repetitive. for those who have stayed at both, how do they compare? thanks in advance!

All our bags are packed!! Kids are jumping off the walls!! After waiting six months, these last few days feel like a million months!

Only 61 hours or 222,280 seconds!
:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

As of today, I can say that I'll be at the Poly NEXT MONTH!:dance3: Here at home it was warmer/more humid than Orlando. I figure if i have to live with that kind of humidity, I should at least be in my happy place!

My friends and I have booked TPV for a Girls Only trip and cannot decide which Longhouse to request - Tahiti or Tuvalu. We love the view from both, but thinking we might enjoy the beach by Tahiti. Were you able to see the Electrical Water Pageant from your room? Thanks!

I'm not the poster you were asking the question of, but I seem to remember that someone had stayed in Tahiti with a TPV and had posted pics of the room and view on the old Aloha thread. I think it was back in January or February. The poster took some pics of the EWP from the balcony.

Oh! And congrats on your Girls Only Trip! Sounds fun! :goodvibes

Sorry that I can't help you, but I wanted to suggest posting this question on the Concierge/Club Level thread. :) You might get some answers on there. :goodvibes

Hi Bethclayton,

I have stayed at both levels. Last year at GF RPC and 2 years ago at Poly CL TPV. I would say there is more food and more selections of food at the GF. The Club level at Poly doesn't seem to set out as much food as the GF. Just my opinion. Also, without question, the afternoon food is more plentiful at GF. The Poly sets out goldfish and a plate of cookies and a small bowl of gummy worms. The GF had a tray of cookies and brownies and more I can't even remember!

I did like the Polynesian Club level, but not enough to make an effort to stay there again. As a matter of fact, I just changed my July reservation from CL TPV to plain TPV. After trying to remember why I booked Club level after 2 stays there and 2 "meh" reactions to it, I decided to skip it.

Hope that helps a little! I know others love CL at the Polynesian. I enjoyed it, but not enough to book it every trip. GF's CL is another story. Loved it and would recommend to anyone.

Good morning!

I have a question about lei's....do you get them at check in and if so, do you still get them if you do online check in?

I think you get them no matter what. There is usually a cast member standing with a handful of them.

Yes you get leis! They also have them in the lobby next to bellman station for you to grab!

Sounds heavenly! So glad you had a wonderful trip and that the view was perfect!

Welcome back and happy planning for your next trip! :goodvibes

We stayed in Tahiti TPV in OCT. Loved it! You could see the EWP a few times when they did the show for GF,Poly, and soemtimes they seemed to do them for the boats that were out waiting for wishes.

My points on Tahiti are that its close to TTC, there is no path in between the rooms and the beach so noone walks in front of your room. It is a few minute walk to GCH but I like being away from the hustle and I'm one of the strange ones who loves the sound of the boat and train whistles coming from across the lagoon.

I prefer Tuvalu. The EWP comes right by the room and of course if you are the waterside of the building no one can walk by since there is only water. We had a second floor TPV room in Tuvalu and loved it.

Have finally started my TR....what was going to be a "mini" TR has turned out to be a "BIG" TR...have completed the first day....will keep plugging along..;) The link is below...hope you enjoy!

9 Day Poly CL stay

I love it!! Going to WDW in January/Feb. 2011 and if I can get 40%, we are staying at the Poly for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's hoping for Pixie dust!

Looking to stay at the Hawaii long house this fall.

I've stayed at the Poly once, Tokelau. Are these rooms similar to those in the Club Level long houses?

Have the rooms been renovated since November of 2008?
