Hey, those Tahiti people have been holding out! No one ever said anything about wide hallways with sitting areas!!
(though I think I'll still hope that I don't get put in that rat hole Tuvalu ...;))

Now you understand my dilemma - it's one rat hole or another!!! :rolleyes1

I just thought that I can make my ADR's next month...I better start planning where I want to go!!!!

Based on our tickers, we will be arriving a couple of days before you. Wouldn't your ADR date be at the beginning of June? (ours is June 1)

With our last trip our flight arrived around 1:30. We took the ME to Poly as well. We checked in, checked out our room and then headed to the MK. I can't remember what time we actually made it to the MK, but we had plenty of time to get a GAC for DD5, eat a little snack, stroll up Main Street and hit about five rides before a 6:30 ADR at CM (mind you it was the end of October and the rides were pretty much walk on).

Thank you! That gives me great hope. I think I'll make a 6:15 ADR and know that we won't do any rides first, due to the crowds. This is assuming that MK doesn't close for capacity or something. In that case, we'll hang out in the CL lounge and have some munchies, a drink, and head to the beach for fireworks.

Wide hallways and sitting areas? I have no idea what she is talking about... next thing you will spill the secret about the heated towels and the nightly mani-pedis we get you have to learn to shush. :rolleyes1

Well if it doesn't work out "plan B" sounds great to me!

Nice try Barbosa. I just checked the pics out on Tikiman's site. I've said it before, I'll say it again ... never trust a pirate! :rotfl:

Uh oh...thought that was my award!! Are you stealin' awards??? :rotfl:

I could not eat much at Ohana's other than the meat on the skewers. I thought the other foods were pretty much Asian style, but maybe it's changed. :)

Heaven's no! I have the West Coast Award and clearly you have the East Coast Award. I just remember stuffing myself with meat, and then requesting the pineapple dessert instead of that other one.

DH does not like spicey and does not like Asian-style food...Does like steak and turkey...Should be avoid this?

I am exactly the same way! No do not avoid ohana! We have go everytime! I don't recall anything that was "spicy" and the skewers are really yummy!

if money was no issue, I'd stay TPV at least three times a year, maybe more! Which is why I continue to buy Powerball tickets...just in case! :rolleyes1

I am in NC an have been buying Powerball tickets for that same reason and now they sell Mega Millions here too! I think if I won it might be more than 3 times a year:rotfl:

I was on allears.net reading the descriptions of all the longhouses.
Tokelau (to-KAY-louw; formerly Oahu)
This building is centrally located to about everything. It is just a short walk to the Great Ceremonial House, the Transportation & Ticket Center, and the Volcano pool. It is directly next to the quiet pool, the arcade, the laundry, and the Never Land Club. All rooms overlook the gardens. Some rooms to the west overlook the quiet pool. A handful of rooms on the northern end overlook the lagoon, but none face Cinderella Castle. There are balconies on all of the floors. Some rooms have roll in showers. Rooms were rehabbed in 2006.

I must be very dense. What on earth are roll in showers?

I think Roll In would be for wheelchairs?..maybe?

What about the bedding? I can see there is a bed spread, but what is underneath? Anyone have any pics??

We are all set to leave in 3 days but now dh is wanting to know why we didn't book a MK view and I told him I thought it was too expensive so he wants to try and see if we can upgrade to MK view. I don't think our TA made a request for a longhouse either. Can I call the Poly and try and talk to someone there and see about an upgrade and a longhouse request? And yes, I do know that we would have to pay more I;m not expecting a free upgrade. Also, does anyone know how much difference it generally is between GV and MK view.

I don't know about the costs, but call them and ask. The worst that can happen is that they will say no.

If you call the CRO line, don't worry if they tell you "no" at first. We upgraded last year 3 days out, and there's something about the reservation not being able to be upgraded within a certain amount of time. The CM got a manager and then we were able to do it. Ours was an upgrade from a mod. to CR, btw. As long as there are rooms available, I'm sure they'll be happy to take your money. And they will waive the change fee, since you're speending more. Good luck!

I'm in NC too - no winner last night! Well, except that we won $8.00. That'll go far toward a TPV.:rotfl2:

Did anyone else have trouble getting on the DIS last night? We were posting back and forth about Tahiti and Tuvalu, but my last post never posted and I couldn't get back on the DIS until just now. No idea if it was our server or the DIS.

Better catch up - this thread moves fast! :thumbsup2

I couldn't get back on after 10pm last night, even though I was enjoying watching the discussion. It must have been DIS, since I didn't have trouble with other sites.:confused3

I also can't eat spicy and am a meat and potatoes gal. I LOVED the food and the service at Ohana. I am also the owner of the world's pickiest eater award.

The meats are not spicy, and I think there's enough that he would probably enjoy. The breads are good, as are the salad and fresh steamed broccoli. He might even like the chicken wings. ANd the dessert is to die for!

The food at Ohana is NOT spicy. The meat is very "plain", so if he likes steak and turkey, he will be fine. In fact, it is heaven for those who love just plain "meat"! LOL The food is also not particularly "asian style" so no worries there for him there either. :thumbsup2

(personally I would prefer it if it WAS spicy and asian LOL)

Do they still offer the childrens menu with chickne nuggets, mac n cheese, fries?
