DH does not like spicey and does not like Asian-style food...Does like steak and turkey...Should be avoid this?
Not really, but feel free to call me that .. it's good for my self-esteem!
Actually I've gotten so much great advice from the DIS that I'm glad to help anyone else when I can.
If you don't want to have a room with no "outdoor space" (ie. patio or balcony) then yes, you should request 1st or 3rd floor (since Tuvalu doesn't have balconies on the second floor).
I would stick with your MK view plans and not worry, even if you do get Aotearoa. We were just there in Feb and we got Tuvalu, but I walked around in front of Aotearoa and the views there were really pretty as well. Maybe not right on top of the water or beach, but still beautiful! I posted a few pics from Aotearoa back on page 35 of this thread. There is nothing like an MK view, you will not regret it!

I think that is what the Husband's issue is about Aotearoa; it isn't on top of the water/beachy area. We'll just note our preferences and hope for the best, and then use maia's idea of switchig rooms if he's really unhappy. I am off to view your pictures...thanks for pointing me there!
I just got back from my travels to page 35. The very first picture you posted...is that the view standing in front of Aotearoa? (As if you were on the first floor?)
The food at Ohana is NOT spicy. The meat is very "plain", so if he likes steak and turkey, he will be fine. In fact, it is heaven for those who love just plain "meat"! LOL The food is also not particularly "asian style" so no worries there for him there either.DH does not like spicey and does not like Asian-style food...Does like steak and turkey...Should be avoid this?
...and the trains...when I see the puffs of smoke from the steam train and hear that horn blow, my heart flutters, and I close my eyes and Dream Along With Mickey!I can hear that show in the background right now!
I also can't eat spicy and am a meat and potatoes gal. I LOVED the food and the service at Ohana. I am also the owner of the world's pickiest eater award.
THAT is my all time favorite sound! We could hear from our GF balcony, but have never heard it from the Poly in maybe 10 or 12 stays. I am thinking that 'awful' Tuvaluwould be the only Longhouse within distance of hearing the steam train?
OMGosh, I can't stand anymore!!! Here's my problem: I want the sights and sounds of Tuvalu with the wide hallways and beach of Tahiti. Guess that would be wanting it all, huh?![]()
Help! We have a dinner ressie at the Boma (AKL) for 7:10 on a night when AK closes at 6:00 (and we aren't planning to be at AK that day - I know, I know - poor plannning). So - what is the best (fastest) way for use to get to the AKL. Taxi is an option but what about Disney Transport - monorail to MK or EP then bus to AKL - which would be fastest? How long will this take?
Thanks!
Well, the hallways aren't wide in Tuvalu but there's a super secluded beach right next door that no one is ever on!

if money was no issue, I'd stay TPV at least three times a year, maybe more! Which is why I continue to buy Powerball tickets...just in case!![]()
Hi, Boma is our must-do restaurant every trip and we've done this twice from the Poly...it's a piece of cake! Take the monorail over to the MK, and wait for the bus from there...it's a direct bus from there to the AKL. So factor in about 5-7 minutes to the MK by monorail, a few minutes to walk to the bus stop, then it takes about 20-25 minutes to AKL from the MK. The whole process takes between 45 minutes to an hour depending on how long you have to wait for the bus at the MK. I'd give it at least an hour or maybe an hour and a quarter in case the monorail has to stop for a bit. We've had that happen on our way to another dining destination and were late for our ADR!![]()
I really like the wide hallways with the sitting areas - in all our Poly stays we've only been in in an "older" longhouse once and that was our first stay in 1981. We even stayed in Tahiti (then Moorea) and Rapa Nui (then Pago Pago) when they were brand new.
But I really LOVE your pics and experience staying in Tuvalu!!
