Amen to that! It's crazy to think that we may end up paying less for our trip because of the exchange rate!

Alright!! Stop trashing our mighty dollar!! We know Canada's dollar is worth more!!! LOL!! (more jealous than angry.)

Actually not trashing your dollar ... more like amazed that ours is worth more :rotfl: - doesn't happen often!! Actually I was thinking it kind of works out for everyone. Regardless of the worth of our dollar it doesn't affect what Americans have to pay for their WDW trip, but it definitely helps out those of us coming from north of the border (since normally we end up paying more than the actual cost because of exchange).

We are too excited here for our first trip to the Poly. The noise level in my house is getting louder and louder, lol.

Today some more packing and rounding up laundry (ugh). Clean out the fridge for tomorrow's pick-up, get a pedicure and wait for Friday!:woohoo:

I can't wait to see what longhouse we wind up in, and can't wait to see the resort!

I knew I could count on my Poly crew! I don't think I've ever wanted summer to come and go so quickly (and most of fall ;))!!! :faint:

Tell me about it, the more I look at the pics of the Poly and read every ones reviews from their recent trip or hear about the ones that have trips very soon, I get sooooo jealous:rotfl:

For those that are getting ready to head to the World have a magical trip. Cant wait to hear all about your stay when you get back.;)

OMG 7 days till my vacation begins, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

LOL the day before my trip I'm getting my first haircut in 7 years (gonna feather it like the 70's been waiting 35 years for this) :thumbsup2 I'm also getting a manicure and pedicure. It's my treat before I go, this spa trip will cost me in the area of $170 :scared1: but I do look forward to it.

Enjoy your trip!

We made it home! I am so missing the Poly right now. 4 nights just wasn't enough. To be honest we are tempted to sell our DVC so we can just stay there everytime.. Everything was perfect! I will post pics later today so I can show you what LVCL looks from the 3rd floor room and some other misc pics. It was packed but I personally like a lot of activity.

The parks on the other hand were WAYYYYY more packed yesterday and Monday than they were all last week. If you are going this week make sure you have a plan! I will add more thoughts later. I have grocery shopping to do and get ready for work.. BLAH...

 I know that feeling of adjusting to the real world and missing the smell of the Poly. While 4 days isn't enough for sure, I have done it many times becasue 4 days at the Poly feels so much longer than almost any other resort.

Welcome back - excited to see what a 3rd fl LVCL view is like and hear about your trip! :goodvibes

Hi! I have a quick question, we are staying at the Polynesian for the first time in June and I was wondering, can you get your resort mug refilled at the Pool bar? Is there food and snacks available at the Pool?
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

You cannot refill your mug at the pool nor is food or snacks available! However captain cooks is just a short stroll from the pool. They serve counter service stuff along with icecream sandwiches chips and that is where you refill your resort mug. It really is about 20 yds from pool!

I just posted this on the CL Board, but I would love to hear what my fellow Poly lovers have to say...
I almost feel guilty for even considering another resort, but this is my dilemma:

Hi all.
I have a question:
We're leaving for WDW in 8 days. We have Poly CL reserved. My TA called just a few minutes ago saying that we can't stay in the Hawaii Bldg the 1st nite because of some maintainance which will be going on. They have offered to put us in a regular room for one night (refunding the difference, of course) and thn we will supposedly get our room the second day. This seems like an awful lot of hassle to me.... There are 7 of us in 2 rooms.
They also offered a room in Sugar Loaf for the 1 night; or for our entire 7 day stay, if we want.
Neither option really appeals to me...
What do you guys recommend?
Actually, I feel really bad for my TA - she is more upset than I am...
I've even been thinking that I might want to switch the whole reservation to the BC (assuming they have availability).
Some of the pro's are SAB (we'll have 2 teenagers, a 7 year old, and a 4 year old.), proximity to EP and HS, and the fact that it would be a new experience for us.
Cons are the smaller rooms and concierge lounge, and the fact that it's not on the monorail.
We've stayed at the Poly & fell in love with watching the EWP and Wishes from our room every night. DGD goes crazy when she sees the Castle! We love the peaceful Poly Beach.... I guess I don't have to go on.
I was a bit disappointed when the Poly added a TPV and increased the cost after we made our reservation. I don't know if this is just the motivation I need to change resorts, or if I'm just making too much fuss over moving after 1 night.
Would truly appreciate your input. Any and all suggestions will be considered.
Just hope I have enough time to work something else out.

PS We've already stayed at the WL - would like to try somewhere else, even tho we loved it.
Really don't think we want to consider AKL due to the lack of night life (especially for the teenagers & I don't think they'll care for the food) and the fact that it is so far removed from the rest of the parks.
Would definitely take a look at everything else.

Thank you for your input.

Gretchen

I would ask your TA if, since it was a Poly booking error why they couldn't offer their princess suite or the presidential suite in enchange for your two rooms booked CL! I would not stay anywhere else! The suites are CL and they are gorgeous!

I just booked a 4 night stay at the Poly club level theme park view room for this October! I'm so excited I could actually throw up. LOL
I haven't even told my 8 year-old daughter yet. I wonder if I should just surprise her?!
I haven't even looked through all of this thread, but I'm just sooo excited :)
W00T!!!:cheer2:

Now that's a GREAT idea, Carlnix!

I guess I'm not clear--is the entire longhouse going down for one night? If not, why not stay in a longhouse with a good view and proximity while still accessing the lounge? Moving after one night from a room at the Polynesian to a room in Hawaii shouldn't be that big a deal--although it is an inconvenience.

Guess I'm having a hard time understanding why you can't get a room for one night due to "maintenance" unless the entire building has an issue.

I agree, it sure wouldn't hurt to nicely inquire why you can't be upgraded for the one night. My guess would be the suites are booked given the time of year, but you never know. . .

Here are some pictures from our trip. Sorry if some of them are dupilcated. I took a lot from our balcony.
