just booked poly may 1st-6th!! I'm taking my mom and my two daughters (3 and 4 years old) This will be our first trip together and our first trip to poly!! I'm so excited! I can't sleep :cheer2:

We're going to be at the Poly from Apr 27 May 5 and I have 3yr son and a 4 yr old daughter. Maybe we'll see you at the pool! I'm so excited too!!!

Johnsnet! Disney needs to give you some kickbacks because everytime I convince myself to just stay GV because I don't want to spend the extra $$ you post those pics! :rotfl2:

My TA may retire after I get done deciding what and when for our next trip! :lmao:

Oh my stars! I done did it! Switched from BLT to Poly! I've been missing home too much, I suppose, and when everyone agreed, we decided to make the move back. Lemondog's review may have been the tipping point! :rotfl: Anyway, I'm feeling much better now-- like all is right with the universe. I will be sipping something lovely and frosty at the base of a volcano while watching a castle on the horizon in 5 months time. :goodvibes

If you booked a room-only reservation through Disney, just call and add the request to your reservation. I suppose the same goes w/ a package. If you booked through a travel agent, do it through them. Good luck!

thank you :thumbsup2

Aloha! I'm in the (very) beginning stages of planning a 25th anniversary trip for hubby and I. Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to stay at the Polynesian "village" as it was called back then, and in a 2007 trip to WDW we had dinner at Ohana, and wandered around the resort a little. Loved the waterfall in the lobby, and the lush landscaping of the grounds. Also loved the proximity to the monorail system as Epcot is our favorite park. We didn't spend much time at all there our last trip as the kids wanted to go on the most popular rides in other parks, and I'm really looking forward to a relaxing vacation with just the two of us taking in all the sights at our own pace.

From what I've read, the Poly seems to fit a romantic 25th anniversary perfectly! The only thing that would squelch my Poly dreams is the cost, but I'm hoping to get one of those 40% off room only deals -- if they are still around by then. We had free dining in 2007, and while we enjoyed trying out the different restaurants, we found it was way too much food for us, and this time around I'm not seeking the DDP. I'd rather have the room discount and dine carefully. ;)

We are free to travel any time of year, but would prefer lower crowds and warm (not hot) weather. I'm thinking early May or November might be good for us. September was way too hot and humid in 2007, and I vowed to never go again that month even if free dining is offered.

Are those good times for the deals? Like I said, we are in the beginning stages of planning, and open to any and all suggestions -- but I really do want the Poly!

Oh, that just sounds so wonderful! You and your hubby can dine at all the wonderful places in the World Showcase, and then just hop the monorail back to the Poly. A romantic stroll through the grounds, watch fireworks from a hammock....so romantic!! I'll tell you, one of my favorite walks at the Poly is the path to the TTC, I just love it!! Especially walking back at night after visiting Epcot!

I see you're looking at 2013. No idea what deals will look like then, but for our May 2009 trip, we were lucky enough to get the Buy 4, get 3 free deal, such a savings for us!!! Early May is such a great time to go, we've done it twice. Due to DH's and kids' school and sports schedules, looks like I will be trying March next year (scared about weather!). Hoping for a good deal then. I would think either early May or early Nov. would be a good time for deals, neither are very crowded times. Should be great weather as well!

This May will be our 3rd Spring trip to Disney. Our first trip was the last week of April 2004 and last year we went the second week of May. I can't speak for any other times of year, but we LOVE the Spring and the Flower & Garden Festival. The weather is perfect (a bit warm - but not unbearable), crowds are moderate (but very managable because I always usually have a plan for each day which helps ALOT). I have never had problems booking ADR's either. We are planning a Christmas trip with my parents and in-laws for Christmas 2011 or 2012 and as much as I want to see Disney at Christmas, the thought of NOT going in April/May is a bit sad for me!

Good luck with planning your trip! You will love this Poly board and will learn so much to help with your planning!

Hope you get to go - the Poly is divine :cloud9:

I've stayed in both GV CL and LV CL (our room would now be categorized as TPV CL)
For your DH's 40th I would definitely go for the TPV CL. Absolutely amazing views! Plus the lounge - and just being in the Hawaii longhouse - is awesome!! :cool1:

Here are 2 pics from the balcony of our third floor room in Hawaii :yay:

OK. I just talked myself into a reg GV room and then you had to post these.:scared1:

I still want to stay CL, but the GV is not available. The TPV prices are just too high and we would have to cut a night out to do it. I am sad again.:sad2: Tell me johnsonet, would you stay 4 nights GV or pay the TPVCL and stay 3. I would love to hear your oppinion.

Great thread, thanks Breezysmom!

I am so excited that we are getting to the end of our countdown for a trip I never thought would happen and so excited to stay at the Poly! This will be all of ours very first trip to WDW and the Poly so super excited.

We have booked a GV room but am possibly thinking of trying to upgrade at check-in to a TPV,,,have any of you done that or are most of the rooms full at check-in? It will really depend on the cost difference but this will probably be our only trip for a very long time to WDW and I want to make it as special as possible without breaking the bank.

Oh yes, I fantasize all the time about walking around the grounds at night with the torches lit, and watching the fireworks on the beach. And we missed a LOT of the World Showcase last time because the kids just weren't into it.

I hope the weather will be good for you in March! :flower:

Thank you! I think I'm leaning more towards May now that you've mentioned the Flower and Garden Festival. Speaking of ADR's, is it really necessary to have them for breakfasts at the Kona Cafe? I was hoping to get away with doing just dinner ADR's and leaving the rest of the dining to what we feel like on a whim. I know we can always do CS meals like that, but it might be nice to wake up and have a leisurely TS breakfast too once or twice.

Disney at Christmas should be beautiful! Maybe for our 50th....;)

Right this minute, I wish I was walking the grounds with a Dole Whip (twist), slight breeze, soft music and the sound of the boats...

Oh, wait, Wishes is probably still happening. Oh, well, that's good, too. Is it December, yet???

Our trip got pushed back--only 4 days, but still! I was in double-digits this morning, and now I'm at 103 again. Time to re-do the ticker, I guess. The only thing we'll really miss is Ohana on our arrival night. I'm now thinking about Kona for arrival night dinner.

Your poor TA :rotfl:
Yes, those views are just incredible. Poly LV CL and TPV CL is great for a splurge princess:

 From what you've written it sounds as though the Poly is definitely where you should be :wizard: Congratulations.

Good luck with your planning. I think early May would be a VERY nice time to go. Guaranteed warm, sunny weather. I agree that the Poly would be a wonderfully romantic place to celebrate your 25th :lovestruc

That's a hard one. At this point, I am a fan of either standard GV or LV CL or TPV CL. I think I would vote for 3 nights TPV CL. I know the prices are insane :headache: Are you getting any type of discount at this point?

I completed our taxes yesterday & I think CL TPV is in my family's future! :goodvibes I do have a question about the lounge though. Is it open 24/7? If so - are sodas (or anything else) available in the lounge 24/7?

Thanks - i'm sure this won't be my last CL question. ;)

Is it extra? Do you have to request each day...??? TIA

If you are staying CL you will automatically have turn down service every night. If you are not, you can request it at no extra charge. I've read that some people request it the first night and continue to get turn down service for the length of stay and others have to request it daily.

Aloha all! WOW this thread moves fast... I feel like I was just gone a few days and I come back to a whole new Poly thread!!!!

Just wanted to jump on board and say hey! In 2008 we stayed at the poly for the first time... last year we tried the GF... big mistake... this year we are headed back home to the poly!!! Can't wait!!!

The lounge and loft are open 24/7 and the cooler is stocked with soda. You will have access to the drinks in the cooler and the seating, but nothing else I'm afraid.

Congrats on a good tax return! ;)
