Great job on a new FAQ, BreezysMom. At this rate, you will be starting a new one by April. :grouphug:

No doubt!!! While I have been cutting and pasting all morning you are all still playing without me :lmao:

I am done for today...I will do more tomorrow.

Thanks for all the kudos. I love working on the thread because everyone on here is so wonderful :grouphug: Plus it helps with the longing to be at the Poly blues :sad2: when it is a snowy cold day.

On our way home from 7 wonderful nights at the Poly. Can't wait to post pics plus do a longhouse comparison review of Tokelau vs. Fiji. Will hopefully be able to do that tomorrow, plus start a dining review thread that
will include Ohana bfast and
dinner, Capt. Cook's lunch and Kona bfast!

I know I've said it a million times but I truly think every longhouse has its advantages.

From someone that just browsed through some 500 pages of Poly FAQ threads this comment could not be truer. Each Longhouse has its own charm and appeal. Much like the variety of properties that Disney has to offer.

While I want to tell everyone to not stress about which Longhouse to request I often cannot heed my own advice.:rolleyes1 Thankfully staying CL I know where I will be.

I often say our first trip to the Poly, before discovering the DIS, was the best because we felt we were given the best view on property for all we knew! That trip the Tiki Gods (now we know them as room assigners :lmao:) blessed us with our fabulous third floor Figi.

Another perfect example is our TPV lovers who had to have Tahiti and got stuck in that awful Tuvalu Longhouse! :rotfl2:

Steve Tiki's site is a great resource as well as this thread. If you have certain critera, there are plenty of veterans on here that can help find the perfect request.

But in the end, that is all it is...a request ;)

I can't wait! :banana::banana:

We are staying at the Poly for the 1st time in May and we are so excited! I am looking forward on our non park days to enjoying a good book and a rest on the beach in a hammock but I wondered how many hammocks are there and how hard is it to get one? Do you people claim them early in the a.m. and never leave or will it be fairly easy to get one for an hour or 2? Thank you guys-I have learned so much!

We've been there in May twice, and the hammocks were almost always available mid-day. They'd fill up at night before the fireworks, but when we'd wander around in the afternoon, they were available.

From our 2009 Photopass shoot (I think this was about 4 PM):

Sandym718, Your Children are adorable. If you don't mind me asking, did your DD get her hair done at the Poly? TIA
We are going in May for DD's 6th B'day princess: and she would love to have her hair done.
Cathy

She got her hair done at the salon in the GF - Ivy Trellis. $55 for half head. I made the appointment before we left Ohio, for our arrival (no parks day). The woman did a great job, they lasted a long time and looked great. We've found this to be a worthwhile expense on our beach, and now Disney, trips. Keeps her hair out of her face when she's swimming, keeps it looking "neat", etc. We may be going next March for her 7th bday (or right after) and we'll do it again!

Thanks. We got DD's hair done last year in Jamaica and it was wonderful. we had the whole head done and it lasted close to 2mos. No daily hair battles. Of course, it cost very little there($40Us) but I would pay just about anything for how neat it stays.

How long did it take to do? DD7 would love to get her hair braided (and it would eliminate the daily battle to brush it for a while!) I'm just not sure about where I could squeeze it into our jam-packed schedule!

You're back to CL now? How about your dates ... I don't suppose you're still working on your dates ... :rolleyes1

And yes, Tuvalu is awful. yuck. :rotfl2:

Our dates are set for now unless airfare does not go down and so far it is has not. My TA is avoiding me at all costs :rotfl2:

DD and I are doing the hard press to move our dates back to early December but DH inisists that he can't take the time off work. Really I think he just does not want to travel around the holidays  We hope we can wear him down and he will give in :rolleyes1

As far and CL...that is a day by day thing too! But for now that is the plan. If I do stay non CL we will just stay GV.

But if I do stay GV I won't want to stay in Figi! That place is horrible :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I have to just say that all this time I was wondering why everyone loved Tahiti's views and no-one ever mentioned Tuvalu -- I always thought that it looked so neat since it was sitting right over the water. At least now I understand that it's because Tuvalu is just plain yucky! Thanks for clearing that up for me. ;)

Tell DH there's a veritable Poly thread party that week and all the cool kids will be there. And besides, you're our illustrious Poly thread leader so you really need to make an appearance ... you know what happens when you leave us unsupervised! :lmao:

It's funny. Really, I did think Tuvalu must be crappy since no one ever talked about it. Then I stayed there and now I really think they were just trying to keep it all to themselves!

We are at the airport and yes I had to check the Poly threas one more time before we board to head ot Orlando. I'll try to check in while there but I might be busy in that hammock. I think I hear it calling to me now. :)

Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

I think it took about 45 minutes total. We arrived at the Poly about 11:30 AM. Checked in and got our room (not much unpacking as we moved to our beloved Tokelau the next day), took a monorail ride, ate lunch at CC's, swam for a bit. Then Jessi and I showered and went to the GF to the salon. DH and DS stayed at the pool a while longer, then showered, etc. We met back up at the Poly for the Torch Lighting and dinner at Kona. As you can see, if you have a resort day, or 1/2 day, it's pretty easy to squeeze in with a lot of other things !
